He doesn’t know what he’s talking about. I know all about Leo and his responsibilities. I was around when my brother was part of the club. His responsibility to the club was the main reason Leo took so long to make me his. I knew all about his responsibility.

Before I had a chance to get too stuck in my own thoughts the sound of Leo’s bike rumbles through the air.

He’s back.

My smile isn’t as wide as it was before but now that he’s back I can push all this nonsense about me not knowing who I’m dealing with out of my head. I’m sure he’s got a good reason for having left me in the bed this morning without saying that he was leaving.

I step out into the main room and force myself to wait in the background while he stopped to talk to the boys.

If he needed me to know what he was doing while he was out he’ll tell me. I’m sure of it.

He looks over in my direction and nods once before turning back to talk to the boys.

I don’t know what I was expecting, maybe him to come barrelling into my arms. Him to show even a percentage of the excitement I felt about us taking the next step in our relationship.

The longer he stood and talked to the boys the more ridiculous I felt about being so happy.

Losing some of my steam I walk back into the bedroom and wait for him there. Maybe he just didn’t want the boys to see him in a vulnerable state.

A rush of happiness washes over me as I hear his heavy footsteps coming in the direction of the room.

He pushes open the door and before he can close it I’m tossing myself in his arms.

He grunts as he catches me, a small chuckle lacing his words, “Damn, babe, I was only gone for a little while.”

“It was long en-” My words cut off as I buried my nose against his skin.

There was something wrong. I know my man’s smell. I could identify him with my eyes closed based on that smell alone.

A smell that doesn’t include Jasmine and Vanilla.

I take a step back as the anger turns my vision red.

“What bitch have you been with?”

CHAPTER 32

NOT GUILTY

Leo

This is exactly why I never wanted an ol' lady.

I can tell that she's upset about something. I can tell by the fire raging in her eyes but I don't have the foggiest idea what the hell she's talking about.

"What bitch? I had some club business to take care of."

"Leo, don't act like I'm fucking stupid. I don't want to do this with you."

I toss my hands up in frustration before I walk by her further into the room. One second she's jumping all over me kissing and touching me the next second she looks like she's about to rip my balls off with her nails.

"I'm not trying to act like you're stupid. I'm telling you I don't know what you're talking about." I snap at her.

"Where were you?" Nisa seethes.

"I already told you, I had to take care of some club business. That's all you need to know." I cross my arms over my chest doing my best to keep my cool.

"Club business, huh?" She takes a step in my direction and it takes everything in me to let her get so close to my face. Any other day I wouldn't bat an eye in her direction but she'sunhinged right now. I don't know what she thinks she's going to do.
