She was sipping her first cup when she felt the energy in the room change, telling her Dominik stood behind her.

“Good morning,” she said without turning. “Do you have time for a cup of coffee?”

When she didn’t hear anything, she turned and swallowed nervously. This huge, magnificent specimen of a man leaned against the doorjamb with his arms crossed, wearing only his jeans, which he hadn’t zipped yet. Her eyes couldn’t stop scanning him. Seeing him without clothing showed how muscular he was. Every muscle stood out sharply. His biceps alone were as large as her waist, and his legs were like tree trunks. There was not a bit of fat on the man. The tendons on his arms and hands also showed how truly strong he was. The thought of those hands on her body made her cunt spasm. He was so … everything. She loved everything about him.

His eyes narrowed on her. “Are you kicking me out?”

She swallowed and shook her head. “No. I just thought…”

He tilted his head to the side. “Thought what?”

She looked away. “That you’d have to leave.”

“Look at me, Angel.”

She had to swallow a few times to hold back the tears that burned her eyes.

“Now,” he demanded.

She braced herself when he stepped closer, cupped her chin in his hand, and raised her head. Tessa wanted more than anything to wrap her arms around him and never let go, but shecared too much to try to be conniving and make him feel guilty.

“Tell me what’s wrong,” he murmured gently.

His tone almost made her lose control.

“Last night after…”

“After we made love?” he asked.

Tessa nodded. “I sensed that you were very uncomfortable. I’ve had to read and feel the emotions of people around me my whole life, so I’m pretty good at it. I don’t think you want to be here, and I … I understand.”

He didn’t release her face and stared down at her for a long minute. “I don’t.”

Her brows pinched together. “Don’t what?” she asked when he stalled.

“I don’t want to leave. In fact, if I had my way, we’d be together every minute except when we’re working. The only thing that’s going to change my mind is if you can’t stand to be with me. Even then, I’ll do whatever I need to change your mind.”

Her stomach settled a bit. “But you were unsettled, right?”

He nodded. “Yeah, but not for the reason you think.”

Her hand, which was not holding the cup, gripped his thick wrist. “Then why?”

“Everything I feel for you is exponentially more and deeper than I’ve ever felt in my life. When I was inside your sweet body, I never wanted to leave. It took an amazing amount of effort to pull out of you. The magnitude of emotion surprised me. I never thought I could care about someone as much as I love you.”

She couldn’t hold back the tears from falling. This time it was in relief. “I feel the same way.”

His thumb slid over her cheek before he took the cup from her, put it to the side, lifted her, and set her on the counter. His hand slid to the back of her head and controlled her as his face descended. The kiss made them both moan. Her arms crept around his neck, and she widened her legs to pull him closer to her.

She wanted to beg him to strip her and get as deep as he could inside her. “Please.”

He raised his head and studied her. “I want to make sure you’re okay to take me right now. Last night, I knew you felt some discomfort. You’ve got to be sore.”

She shook her head. “It wasn’t discomfort, I felt stretched, and it might have stung a bit to begin with, but you had me so hot and needy, it almost added to the desire I was feeling.”

Heat flared in his eyes. “So, you liked the bit of pain I gave you?”

She bit her lip, felt her face heat with a blush, and nodded.
