“As soon as you have the evidence, call me, and we’ll get those fuckers in the outhouse. I have a girl to go and confront about exactly what happened in that kitchen.” He nods as I walk out my office, knowing he’ll lock the door for me.

It takes me longer than usual to get to the hospital due to New York traffic, but when I get there, Cass is just walking out of the doors, her head in her bag, but when I rev my bike, her head shoots up in shock.

Ignoring the defiance she instantly shows me, I pull up next to her car.

“Steal, please…. It’s been four years,” she tries.

I spit, “Exactly, four years without the woman who holds my heart.” She swallows and looks down. I clear my throat before asking, “When exactly did you know Bull and Brute were bad eggs?”

Her head shoots up, causing bits of her dark red hair to fall out of her messy ponytail, her hazel eyes wide, and I shrug. “I’ve seen a lot of footage tonight, Trouble, and most of it is you avoiding them…before Brute shoves you into the kitchen after Faith gave him the nod.”

Her eyes tear up, and she begs, “Please, Steal, just let it go.”

I shake my head and climb off my bike before getting into her space and cupping her jaw.

“I can’t,” I admit, “because those fuckers have been inside my clubhouse while you’ve been in hiding. I’ve lost four years with you because of their influence over the club.” My eyes race between hers, and I ask, “How long, Trouble?”

She sniffles and drops her arms, her bag falling off her shoulder, but she quickly catches it with her hand as she admits, “Two hours after going to the clubhouse for the first time, Bull and Brute told me you were Faith’s, and I was nothing but a patch chasing whore who will get her comeuppance for stealing you away from her. They said Dog had first dibs.”

My nostrils flare with anger, my pulse racing, and even though I don’t want to know, I know I need to, so I ask, “And what exactly happened in that kitchen?”

Her eyes race between mine before she tears my world down. “He shoved me into the kitchen counter, my stomach smackedthe edge before he told me he’d always wanted me, and when I tried to fight back, he trapped my arms…so I screamed.” Terror fills her beautiful hazel eyes, and I suck in a breath at the pain consuming her. “He covered my mouth and then shoved his fingers inside me while Faith watched, giggling.”

I take a step back, linking my fingers behind my head. I fucking kicked her out, threatened to kill her, and that is what she went through, fucking sexually assaulted….

“When I saw the knife, I didn’t think; I just acted to protect myself. I didn’t mean to kill him, but when I turned, he stumbled back in shock, and I stabbed the knife into his heart.” Her tears fall. “When you chucked me out, I went to the E.R, my mentor Dr. Carmichael was the one to see me.Hehad torn my walls because of how dry I was and how rough he was….”

I shake my head, pain and fury taking over, but my phone goes off. I lock eyes with Cassidy as I get it out and only break eye contact to check the message.

Piston: Only Saddle, Dog, and Slider’s accounts showed the missing money. They’re waiting in the outhouse. None of the older generation know.

I breathe heavily at his words, and revenge burns in my throat, knowing they stood guard, keeping brothers away so Brute could rape my fucking girl, my heart.

Cass asks, “What is it? You look ready to blow.”

I look at her, my eyes taking in the bags beneath her eyes, and instantly, I hate it.

She’s fucking tired and yet, she won’t accept my help, and I can’t even blame her.

Swallowing down my fury, I admit, “The three traitors who helped with your attack are tied up in the outhouse. Bull and Faith will be next.” Her eyes widen, and I promise, “They’re dead.”

That said, I kiss her forehead, before climbing on my bike. I take one last look at her, knowing I need to clean house at the club and won’t see her for a week, before spinning out of the hospital parking lot and driving toward the clubhouse.

It looks like Killian has the job watching my girl this week. If he keeps her safe, he’ll be patched in next month, because nothing is more important than my old lady, and old lady she is, even if she doesn’t want to admit it….

Cassidy – One Week Later

I gently tap my finger on my thigh as I lean against the elevator wall, watching the numbers light up.

I’ve just finished my shift and I’m on my way to pick Moira up from daycare, something I haven’t done much of since Steal has been back in my life. Instead, I’ve had Tanner pick her up and take her back to my place until I get there. I am well aware Steal is sitting outside my apartment when Tanner leaves and is most likely thinking the worst, but I don’t care.

My main concern is keeping my daughter safe and knowing the brothers that were a threat to her are gone, something Killian, my unwanted bodyguard, explained with Steal’s approval.

To be fair, Killian is nice. He’s kept me updated on what’s happening, and I know I can’t keep taking Tanner’s time.

He wants a night out on the town, and he deserves it.
