Part of her felt weird about that.
But a bigger part of her liked that he had still been watching over her even though he couldn’t be in here.
“We had something at work come up that needed my attention, but I was always coming back to look after you. I just wasn’t aware that Alexei had taken the monitor from me. That’s how he got in here before me.”
He sounded so disgruntled that she had to smile.
“How are you feeling? Upset? Out of sorts? Settled?”
Tamsyn took a moment to gauge her feelings. “I was out of sorts, now I’m feeling more settled.”
“Good. That’s what I want to hear.” He leaned down and kissed her forehead. “Just take your time.”
After a few deep breaths to settle herself again, she attempted to get off his lap, but he held her against him.
“Were you given permission to move?” he said in a low voice.
She froze.
Oops.
“I thought you needed to get back to work.”
He raised his eyebrows. “Not for you to worry about. If I need to be at work, that’s where I’ll be. Right now, all I need is to be with you.”
Wow.
Just when she thought these men couldn’t possibly get more amazing, they proved her wrong.

Where was she?
Roman went searching through the house. His rumbling stomach had alerted him to the fact that it was lunchtime and he needed to make his girl something to eat.
She didn’t always remember to eat.
Not that he was one to talk. But he was trying to do better in order to help her.
Also, it sometimes felt like she was always taking care of him when he wanted to look after her.
He walked toward her bedroom, not that she slept in it much and never alone.
Alexei struggled not to be with her at any time, but especially at night. So he was usually sleeping with her. Unless she was in with Salem.
And then he would sneak in. Salem hadn’t been too impressed with that to begin with, but they seemed to have some sort of agreement.
After knocking, Roman pushed her door open to check inside. Not in there. He checked Alexei and Salem’s bedrooms just in case.
Hmm.
Nope.
Where was she?
He was starting to think that Alexei’s suggestion that they put a tracker on her wasn’t such a crazy one.
He wasn’t sure what that said about him, though. Since when did he start thinking that Alexei had sane ideas?
