“Did you hurt yourself?” she asked, ignoring him. “Oh no, you’re bleeding.” She reached down to grab hold of him.
He drew his hand away, turning to her. “Stay away from me, Bunny. Go back upstairs. It’s safer there.”
“You won’t hurt me.”
Shit.
Of course he fucking wouldn’t. But that wasn’t the only reason that he wanted her to leave.
“I don’t want you to see me like this.”
“Would you leave me if I was in a bad way?” she demanded. “And before you answer, I know that you wouldn’t. And I want to be here for you, too. Please don’t deny me that.”
Christ.
“Let’s wash this blood away.”
He stood his ground. “You should be sleeping.”
“How can I sleep when I’ve been worried about you?” She stared up at him with those wide, innocent eyes and he couldn’t take it anymore.
Wrapping his hands around her waist, he lifted her and pushed her back against the wall. Next to the hole that he was likely going to feel bad about tomorrow.
Licking his lips, he stared down at her. He was a sweaty, bloody mess. But he wanted her in the worst way.
“I’m going to give you one more chance to walk away,” he told her. “To get away.”
“I’m not going anywhere.”
“Not even if I tell you that if you stay, I’m going to take you against this wall right now.”
Her mouth parted and she started breathing heavier. “Is that meant to make me leave? Because all it does is make me want to stay.”
Alexei let out a deep groan. He knew that he needed to make sure she was ready to take him. He wasn’t a small guy. Setting her on her feet, he stripped her quickly. She was wearing an oversized T-shirt that he recognized as his and a pair of panties. The T-shirt went over her head and on the floor. Then he crouched to remove her panties. He leaned in and kissed the top of her mound.
“Were you in bed with Salem?” he demanded.
“Yes.”
“He fuck you bare?”
“He, um, no,” she said. “I had a bit of a sore tummy so he didn’t, um, fuck me.”
“What?” He reared back to look up at her. “You’re sick.”
If anything could dampen his anger, it was the idea of his girl being sick or in pain.
“Why didn’t you tell me? Why didn’t Salem message me?” He was going to kill that bastard. He was always going on abouthonesty and communication and then he went and kept this from him?
Not good enough.
“I’m fine.” She held her hands up. “Really. Don’t tell Roman, but I think it was his kale salad.”
He wrinkled his nose. “Kale? Seriously?”
“Yeah. He thinks I need to poop more. I don’t.”
“You’re sure? You wouldn’t lie?”
