I whirl around, reaching for the door. I still have my purse and keys. If I can get to my car I can lock myself inside and call the police while driving away as fast as I can. I think about Vin, his big solid presence and wish he was here, with me. I wouldn’t be so terrified.
I wrench the door open and launch myself down the few steps to the concrete floor of the garage. I race around my car, but as I’m rounding the rear I’m grabbed from behind. Before I can do more than gasp a hand clamps over half my face and I’m yanked into a hard chest. I start screaming anyway, desperate muffled sounds erupting from under his hand. I kick out but he lifts me right off the ground and then slams me down on the trunk of my car, forcing the breath out of me.
It takes me a moment to pull air back into my lungs, but once again he’s faster. A gag is shoved into my mouth and tied around my head before I can do more than whimper. My arms are wrenched behind my back and handcuffed. I feel like I’m fighting for my life, but all I’m really doing is wriggling under his heavy bulk. He bends down behind me and snaps a pair of cuffs around my ankles.
Then he does the most terrifying thing he’s done yet. Nothing. He just stands behind me, watching as I struggle to breathe through my nose because the gag is shoved halfway down my throat. I try to lunge to the side but start to fall, since my ankles are cuffed together. He grabs my arm and hauls me upright, setting me back against the trunk.
I realize that I’m crying. Tears are spilling from my eyes down my cheeks and raining down on my breasts. He takes my loose hair in his hand, gathering it together and holding it in a tight ponytail. The movement is familiar. As is the scent when he leans over me, pressing himself against my ass.
Vin!
I mumble his name in surprise and he speaks in my ear, his voice low. “That’s right baby girl. You’ve been naughty tonight.”
Anger begins to replace my fear as he hauls me away from the trunk long enough to open it. I thrash and scream against my gag as he picks me up off my feet and drops me into the trunk. I lay there stunned for a moment, just staring up at his shadowy form.
“Time to go home.”
He slams the lid down closing me into the darkness.
