And Colt let me.
He hasn’t pushed me.
He’s left me alone to come to terms with my new reality.
Watching him ride off, I know part of that is because he’s a busy man. Taking over the Bar 9 as well as tutoring the triplets have cut further into his time. There are only so many hours in a day, after all.
But I can’t stop wondering if he’s put me in the same pigeonhole as that filly Callan mentioned the day I arrived…
Is Colton gentling me and I didn’t realize it?
If so, I can’t help but think that it might be working.

Cole: Heard you gave Marvin Grantley a pounding
Colton: Callan, what have I told you about gossiping?
Callan: I was sharing news. Not gossiping.
Cody: I always hated that asshole. What did he do?
Cody: Also, I see how it is, CALLAN. Why didn’t you tell me too?
Callan: Cole called. You didn’t.
Cole: Because I’m the better brother
Cody: Whoa, that’s a pretty cocky statement coming from a big baby.
Cole: Next time we’re both at the ranch, I’ll show you how big of a baby I am.
Colton: I don’t think that’s as much of a threat as you want it to be lol.
Cole: Oh, it’s a threat. This big baby can punch.
Cody: I’m shaking in my CF-18.
Cole: Ahh, so it was you who wrote in the sky, ‘Cody sucks ass’?
Colton: How is it Callan is the youngest but you two bicker the most?
Callan: I’m the smartest.
Cole: If you tell us your IQ again, Cody’s not the only one I’ll smack when I get home
Callan: Gratuitous violence is a sign of idiocy
Colton: Cole, don’t threaten Callan.
Colton: Callan, watch your mouth.
Cody: What did Grantley do?
Colton: Was cruel to a horse.
Cody: That motherfucker
