Page 51 of Don't Look Back

Colton

I skate backwards, holding onto Leslie’s hands to keep her balanced. I’m smiling ear to ear the entire time.

“Why has there been a big goofy grin playing on your lips since we got here?” She chuckles, then almost loses her balance again.

“Because you look adorable. You’re having so much fun and I love it. Plus, you suck at this, but you’re trying so hard.” I boop her on the nose.

“I haven’t done this in forever,” she groans. “I was probably twelve the last time I went skating. Exactly how often do you go ice skating?” She narrows her gaze on me.

“I go all the time. I love it.”

“Were you a figure skater? I could totally see that.” She smirks

“I played ice hockey, thank you very much.” I lift my chin into the air and ignore her teasing.

“Really? That’s kind of impressive and very sexy.”

“Oh, yeah?” I tug her closer, letting her body slam into mine. I lower my head and press a soft kiss to her lips.

“Ew! There are children here!” Sohpia fake gags as she skates by with Pecker at her side.

“We all know you’re here; you came in the car with us,” I call, making her roll her eyes.

“Stop!” Leslie giggles. “She’s going to get mad at you.”

“Nah, she loves me. She’s going to get my name tattooed on her right butt cheek.”

“That would be terrible! Don’t encourage that! I could totally see her doing it.”

“Maybe you should do it then.” I wiggle my brows.

“Get your name tattooed on my butt? Seriously?” She blinks at me with zero emotion.

“What about on your tits?”

“Colt!” She swats at my chest, making me laugh. I grab her hand and lift it to my mouth. I press soft kisses to each knuckle before interlacing our fingers and spinning around so I'm skating next to her and we’re facing the same direction.

“Fine, just put my ring on your finger and I’ll be happy.”

“Huh? Are you proposing, Romeo?”

“Not yet, but eventually.”

Leslie watches me carefully, trying to figure out if I'm teasing her or if I'm being serious. I'm not joking. I plan to make her mine as soon as possible.

We skate around the rink a few more times. I glance in the stands as we go. I feel like someone is watching us, but I can't find anyone paying attention to us specifically.

“What’s wrong?” Leslie asks quietly.

“I don’t know. I feel like we’re being watched.”

“I felt like that too. I thought I was just being paranoid.” She clutches my arm a little tighter and we slow down. I want to keep scanning the faces around us as we head towards the exit.

“No, you’re not. I think it’s time for us to call it a night. I always follow my gut and it’s saying to get out of here.”

“Colt…” Pecker skates up next to us. I can tell by the face he’s making he feels uncomfortable too.

“Yeah, I’m right there with you. Let’s get the girls out of here.”
