The screen opened and Tatum sat back, but unlike Alexander, she was on the floor, her legs
stretched open in a split. Leaning forward, Tatum set both of her elbows on the
floor and propped her chin on her hands.
Hey there! Sorry for the odd location for the message, but I’m warming up for my exhibition in
Chicago. I got off the phone with Alexander earlier today and he reminded me that we had to send you a video message to let you know how things have been going.
In a word?
Amazing.
I was really worried that talking over the phone and even video was going to be a strain.
Not just to see each other, but the feelings. Our feelings.
When we were on the ship everything was so… heightened. All that time to get to know each other is like fast forwarding through months, but it also could have been awkward if I thought either one of us was ‘trying’ to leave a certain impression on the other.
That’s not what I think we had.
I’m sure of it.
We got to the heart of things between us. And yes, that includes the worries and issues as
they popped up, but I think… No. Iknowthat we learned a lot from going through all that worry and anxiety.
The cruise was kind of like a crucible for us.
And thanks for putting us in each other’s path. Whatever sixth sense of love and matchmaking
you have? It’s a Miracle, really.
So, you’ve got my two very enthusiastic thumbs up for Miracle Matches.
Oh, and when I get to New York, Alexander’s going to have a special celebration for his
parents’ anniversary. It’s the first time I’m going to meet them. So… think good thoughts for me, okay? I want to make a great impression.
Sitting back in her office chair, Martina shook her head. Tatum was going to be in for a really big surprise. Alexander Wen might think he kept his emotions close to the vest, but she’d united a lot of happy couples, and she knew what that look in his eyes meant.
Seeing that same look in Tatum’s eyes was a heart-warming experience.
Picking up her phone, she sent him a text message.
MARTINA: You’re moving in the right direction. Keep going.
Then she switched to Tatum’s text chain and typed out a message to her.
