Gratitude for my best friend fills my chest. “I’ll be sure to thank him later. First, let’s get some food in that growling belly of yours.”

She giggles, placing her hand on her belly. “I didn’t think you noticed.”

“Kitten, I notice everything about you.”

She giggles. “You do not.”

I smirk at her before my eyes move back to the road. “Whenever you eat bacon, you dip it in syrup. You do the same with scrambled eggs. Syrup is never involved when you eat eggs sunny side up. You rip the crust off your toast before you dip it in the eggs.”

She raises her brows, her voice soft. “Wow. I’m impressed.”

“Oh, I’m just getting started. You love chocolate chip pancakes. If you drink milk with them, it’s never chocolate. But if you eat pancakes without chocolate chips, then you drink chocolate milk.”

Jordyn stares at me in disbelief.

“You love bright pink but are not a fan of pastels. You love dogs, and you cry every time you see one hurt or abandoned. You refuse to watch movies where the dog dies because it devastates you.”

“Holy shit. You really do pay attention.”

I lift our joined hands to my lips, kissing her knuckles. “You consume me, Jordyn.”

Her breath hitches, and she squeezes my hand. “I’m sorry I ever doubted your feelings for me.”

I glare at her before my face breaks into a grin. “Don’t do it again. Also, the maroon dress and lingerie you wore last night. You’re gonna wear that for me later.” Turning into the parking lot of the diner, I find a parking space and cut the engine. Unbuckling her seatbelt, I pull her across the console so she’s straddling me. “You’re gonna give me a private lap dance, and I’m gonna fuck you until you have so many orgasms you nearly black out.”

Her lips part, and her tongue darts out, licking her bottom lip. I can’t resist her anymore, capturing her mouth in a kiss that leaves me hard and breathless.

“If I wasn’t so hungry, I’d say fuck breakfast,” she whispers. A dazed look is in her eyes, and her puffy lips drive me insane.

“You need your energy for what I’m gonna do to you. Let’s eat.” My smile is salacious as I wiggle my brows at her. “You’ll be my dessert.”

CHAPTER 42

Jordyn

Isigh, staring into space, unable to concentrate on class. My thoughts are full of Tristan and all that has transpired since I sat with him at the cemetery.

Our conversation flowed easily, and we confessed all the secrets we’d kept from the other. After breakfast, he drove us to a nearby lake, where we talked about our goals and dreams.

As we were driving home, Tristan’s phone rang. It was Josh, who said his father asked him to come home. He planned to spend the night and then drive back to campus tomorrow.

The second Tristan ended the call, he slammed his foot on the gas. We barely made it through the front door before we were both naked, and he proceeded to fuck me in almost every room of the house. We showered, and then he asked me to wear the lingerie and dress I wore last night on stage and give him a lap dance in his bedroom. Not only was that the hottest experience of my life, but Tristan ended up alternating between fucking and making love to me.

We spent the evening in bed, with Tristan leaving long enough to answer the door and grab the takeout he orderedfor dinner. After we ate, I curled up in his arms and binged Netflix until we fell asleep.

The week has been passing in a blur. It’s been extremely busy for both of us, but we always make time for each other. Now that I know Tristan’s name is the only one on the lease, we’ve been slightly less discreet. Tristan is ready to confess our love to Josh, but I’m really worried about the effect it will have on the team.

“Hey, guys.” Josh walked into the house, glassy eyes skimming over us as we worked on our group paper for English Lit. Alex ran to get us some ice cream, so Tristan and I took advantage and had been making out on the couch when we heard Josh’s footsteps. “I won’t be here long. Just grabbing a few things.” He bounds up the steps without sparing us another glance.

I give Tristan a bewildered look. “What’s going on with him? His eyes are bloodshot, and his hands are shaking.”

“I need to make a phone call to Coach Jensen.” Worried green eyes met mine. It darkened when Josh’s loud music shook the walls. “I think he’s using drugs.”

“What?” My eyes lift to the stairs, worry knotting in my gut. “I never suspected… But the terrible way he’s been playing, combined with how distracted and oblivious he is… Well, it makes a weird kind of sense.”

“Don’t jump to conclusions yet. I’ll have Coach test him and let him handle it.”

I cup his face and give him a kiss. “Have I told you how amazing you are?”
