Tristan winks at me as he heads to the penalty box, seemingly unbothered.

Chelsea nudges me with her elbow. “Told you Gardner made a mistake.” I shake my head at the glimmer in her eyes. “Oh, don’t tell me you’re not hot and bothered by Tristan’s actions out there. It’s clear he was jealous of you wearing another guy’s jersey. And Gardner is aware of that and is fucking with him.”

It’s extremely hot seeing him so jealous, but I don’t say a word. I feel bad as I watch Tristan clapping and yelling at his team, his leg bouncing.

My gaze slides to Josh. I’m even more worried that Josh will figure out something is going on between us. Right now, he’s oblivious as the coach screams at him. Tristan is glaring at Josh, shaking his head. I read Tristan’s lips as he yells, “Focus on the game, Fowler.”

Josh turns away from him, a smug smile curling his lips as he looks up at the stands. I follow his gaze and roll my eyeswhen I see Janelle stripping off Josh’s jersey, revealing a massive amount of cleavage in her low-cut top.

As if she senses me looking at her, she turns her head to me, curling her lip in disgust as her gaze moves to my jersey. When her eyes lift to mine, they flash with anger, and I give her a victorious grin.

“Wow. What’s going on between you and the big-titted skank.”

Jealousy swirls inside me, burning my stomach, my eyes not leaving hers. “Remember how I met Tristan? She’s the girl.”

“Did he lose a bet and have to fuck her? She doesn’t seem like Tristan’s type at all.”

Janelle turns her head away, her gaze moving to Josh. I turn my head to Chelsea, my brows furrowing. “How do you know what Tristan’s type is?”

“After you stomped to your room, I hung with Alex and Tristan downstairs for a while.” She gives a slight shrug, trying to play it off as no big deal.

My heart pounds inside my chest. Jealousy tinged with desperation threatens to engulf me. “Did Tristan talk about me?”

She wiggles her brows. “Oh, yeah. Judging by the way he couldn’t stop talking about you, you live rent-free in his head.”

I grip her arm. “Chelsea. Tell me what he said.”

“Nope.” Her eyes sparkle. “You’ll just have to ask him.”

I sigh, turning my attention back to the penalty box where Tristan is poised to jump onto the ice. The crowd roars as his skates hit the ice, and he races down the rink, intent on going after the Bears player who just skated around other players, steering the puck in the direction of the Wolverine’s goal.

I hold my breath as Tristan gains speed, and when the Bears player loses control of the puck, Tristan deftly steals it,taking it down the ice toward the Bear’s goal. Players surround him as he deftly hits the puck to another Wolverine player. The player is under attack and shoots it to Tristan, who fakes left and then shoots the puck straight into the net.

I’m on my feet, hugging Chelsea and cheering with the rest of the crowd. The Wolverines are in the lead.

This is turning out to be a great game. Who knew I’d like hockey so much?

My eyes follow a certain hockey captain as he celebrates with his team. It’s because of him.

CHAPTER 27

Jordyn

Since it’s intermission, I tap my mom and tell her that Chelsea and I are going to get a drink. Before I get up, she grabs my arm, a smile on her face. “Hold up. I need to know about the guy whose jersey you’re wearing.”

My mom leans over and whispers something in Robert’s ear. He gets up and heads down the aisle. Once he’s gone, my mom says, “Spill it, baby girl.”

“I-I… can’t.”

Chelsea leans forward. “A hot hockey player who is obsessed with her.”

I smack Chelsea’s arm with my other hand. “Chelsea.”

“So what’s the problem? Why haven’t you told me about him, Jordyn?”

Oh, hell.I bite my lip, debating what I should say.

“Cause he’s her roommate.”
