“That’s not your business!” Drakos snapped back.
“Her torso is not average! I saw her in one of Morgan’s shirts and it went to her fucking knees! How the hell do you fit? Get pissed about me asking if you want, but you’ve not spent the last three weeks trying to figure this shit out!” Creed was still pissed, and it was probably building since he learned of the two bumping uglies.
“That’s the kind of shit that lives rent free in our brains, Drakos. Now you fucked her too hard, and she’s knocked up?” I was pissed as well.
Creed looked like he might have a stroke. Maybe Drakos has a small dick. That’s always a possibility, right? Jesus, thishappens and doesn’t make me feel any better about the question that has been weighing me down for two weeks.
Happy
Wrenly
It was almost two weeks of complete and total bliss. The only thing that held us back from being totally happy was the question that weighed heavily on us. Was I pregnant?
While I was in limbo, awaiting the Originals decision, I didn’t have much to do. I wasn’t following Travis around anymore, and he also had a lot of free time. Creed suggested he take it easy while they decide what his new official duties would be around Creed’s Lake. He still had some duties, like designing his future missions as the contracts came in, and like all the Originals, he had to do his part in running Creed’s Lake. That meant he had meetings with his units and also the Originals and department heads.
The last two weeks were wonderful. It felt like my life was finally coming together. They were the happiest days of my life and even as a child I couldn’t have dreamed up our lives together to be so perfect. On Friday night, we left for a quick trip. We went to Cincinnati with Magnus, Granger and Stephanie, Axton, and Drakos to watch a hockey game. It was exciting and fun, but we didn’t come back that night. We reserved a hotel room for two nights. On Saturday, Steph and I went shopping while the guys hung out at the hotel. Saturday night we went to a cluband probably drank a little too much. Let’s just say Travis and Granger didn’t appreciate other men trying to dance with me and Steph, so things got pretty heated with Travis and I as we danced. We ended up having a very steamy night in our hotel room. On Sunday, we went to a Bengals game., then came home Monday morning.
Today was Tuesday and I had my meeting with the Originals. When I was done, I met with Morgan, Stephanie, and Heidi to plan Thanksgiving after they discussed Halloween. Melissa was under the weather and Valerie was in a meeting with the rest of the Originals. We would just have to catch them up later.
The community wouldn’t have a Thanksgiving meal, but the Originals always spent it together. It wasn’t Heidi, Valerie, or Steph’s first Thanksgiving on Creed’s Lake, but it was for me, Morgan, and Melissa. It would also include any family that lived in the area, so mostly Magnus's family and Morgan's, but it was also going to include Creed’s family if they weren’t in California. His mom pulled through the pneumonia, despite the fact that her doctors didn’t have any hope. His brothers were due home at any time because they needed to get back to school. It also sounded like one of his brothers would be returning home with a child.
Creed’s cousin, and Morgan’s best friend was Jake Meadows. He was the Morgan Rossi equivalent for girls my age. I even had a poster of him in my bedroom. The guy was hot, and I was definitely nervous I’d make a fool of myself when I met him. Even his parents were famous, so it would be a very interesting Thanksgiving.
Heather was heartbroken when she learned I wouldn’t be home for the holidays. It had been years since I spent a holiday with my family and I felt terrible, but holiday leave was grantedby seniority. I had to stay at Creed’s Lake, but I promised when I came home in early December we could celebrate. I had to go to Texas to testify, but Creed approved a few extra days so I could visit my family in Oklahoma. I was hoping Travis would let me talk him into going home to see my dad and his aunt. I had no expectations of him visiting his mom, and I’d never expect that from him since even I don’t like seeing her.
“I’ll come early and put the turkey in.” I offered. We didn’t want Morgan lifting a finger, but we knew she was going to have a meltdown.
“I’ll have the pies ready.” Morgan said.
“Oh, no you won’t, Morgan. Your mother made it quite clear that she will be making the desserts.” Steph said.
“Alright, so we have Jenny for the desserts, Heidi for the sweet potatoes, Steph for the mac and cheese and dinner rolls, me for the turkey, stuffing, and mashed potatoes, Valerie for the corn casserole, and Melissa for the cranberry sauce. Anything else?” I wrote it all down.
“Creed’s grandmother would like to bring a green bean casserole and a cake, and his aunt and uncle volunteered for the wine and beer. Magnus’s dad is bringing a vegetable tray and chips to snack on during the game.” Morgan paused. “I’m being left out.” She pouted.
“Were having it at your house and you’re supplying the kids drinks. Plus, we all know you’re going to be sitting right here at this table supervising.” Heidi said.
I sighed. “Let’s just hope the rescued kids make it home before Thanksgiving.”
Everyone agreed, because the longer they were with us the harder it would be to watch them leave.
Addie came sliding into the kitchen all excited with Niko at her heels. “Daddy’s home and he’s got Uncle Twabis and Uncle Jwosh with him! I’m going to da door to wait!” She took off again and that made me wonder what kind of chaos she was going to create later. I enjoyed the Originals Thursday night get together for weeks. Travis and Creed always invited me, and I never declined. This week they moved it to Tuesday because Bolton and Drakos both had a mission coming up and would leave on Wednesday. They both volunteered for one of Axton’s recon contracts. It's actually a big deal because despite the abolishing of slavery in 1981 in Mauritania, and the criminalization of it in 2007, that country is slavery’s last stronghold. A British journalist and her cameraman went missing last year while investigating the slavery that was still prevalent, and it’s believed they are both alive but enslaved. It’s Creed’s Lake’s job to locate and observe the two British Citizens, and possibly rescue them if the British Government decides to give the order and pay for the far more expensive contract. Drakos would be there on standby with a team in case they’re given the go ahead and rescue the journalists. From what Travis said, just having Drakos there with the team for backup was in the contract and cost the British two hundred thousand, and the recon part was another four hundred thousand. If they decide to agree to the rescue, it’ll be a three million dollar contract for Creed’s Lake. Travis said the biggest contract they ever had was for thirteen million and they had it done in one week. He couldn’t tell me the details of the contract because it was that top secret, but he did say it had to do with a Middle Eastern Diplomat and his family. Yes, the contracts Creed’s Lake accept are that big.
I heard Addie squealing at the front door and couldn’t hold back my laughter. There was absolutely no doubt that sheloved those guys. Creed was holding Addie in his big strong arms when they walked into the kitchen, but I was taken back by the looks on their faces. Something happened and I was sure they had bad news. Travis made his way to me, and I stood for his hug and a peck on the lips.
“What’s wrong?” I whispered.
“Creed will tell everyone, but just prepare yourself.” He warned me.
“Addie, I need you to take Niko upstairs for a few minutes. I need to talk with the adults before your Uncles arrive.” Creed set Addie down and she tried to give him an attitude, but he gave her a warning look, prompting her to stomp her foot before she stomped all the way upstairs and slammed her door shut.
“I truly fear her teen years.” Creed rubbed the back of his neck like he was stressed out.
“What’s wrong?” Morgan asked.
Creed took a seat next to her then took her hand in his. “I guess now is the best time to talk, so everyone hears the news.”
Morgan gasped. “Is it your mom?” She asked.
