DONNIE
Coming out of the changing room with Toby in full pup mode is an experience. As soon as the mitts and hood went on, he became a dog. I thought it would be hard to differentiate between the human and the pet, but these two men make it very easy to know when to treat them as their animal personas or their human sides. From what I’ve read online, it usually takes a lot of trust for a sub in pet play to let go like they do.
A strange sound from the direction of the pet room niggles at the back of my mind, and I feel the need to run to the room. Apparently, Toby feels the same as he takes off, moving much faster than I ever imagined considering how his legs are restrained. I would not like to be his knees in the morning.
By the time I catch up to him and enter the pet room, I see chaos in the corner where Shiloh had set himself up. Taking in the scene, I feel my blood start to boil. My kitten is shaking and backed completely into the corner.Toby has taken up a protective stance in front of Shiloh, growling at a much bigger pup who is on the floor, swearing and grunting in pain.
Jay rushes over to the man writhing on the ground and looks like he’s going to admonish my pup until he glances back at the kitten against the wall.
Where the fuck was Jay, anyway?
Where the fuck are the monitors that are supposed to be in the play rooms?
I take a few minutes to comfort my boys and settle them onto the cushion to cuddle for a bit. Now that I know things are good between them, at least so far as Toby will protect Shiloh if I step away, I need to get some answers.
“Toby?” I drag him from his half doze with a bit of a belly rub. The way his leg twitches like a real dog’s would makes me chuckle. “I’m going to find out what the fuck happened in here and make sure it doesn’t happen again. Can you be a good boy and protect our kitten while I’m out?”
He whimpers a bit when he sees Jay by the door, but then meets my eye and gives a soft woof so as not to disturb the napping kitten curled into his side. I know he won’t let anyone hurt Shiloh, but something tells me he needs to be reminded of that after the display of aggression.
As soon as I meet Jay at the door, I grab his arm and drag him toward the front room where I know we’ll find Theo or someone who can get me whoever is in charge of the monitors for the rooms.
“Look Don, I’m sorry,” Jay says as soon as we’re in the hallway. “There was an injury and I can’t ignore that. I tried, but there was no one else around to help. No one had even attempted to approach Shy, so I figured a few minutes wouldn’t be an issue.”
I turned on him and backed him into the wall. He might be the same height as me, but I have a lifetime of hockey conditioning behind me. I’m stronger than I look.
“Fuck that!” I hiss. “That pup wanted to hurt someone smaller and weaker than him. I’m pretty sure if they review the footage, that pup also hurt the one you were tending to in order to get you over to the other side of the room. They targetedmykitten and they will pay for that.”
“Cyril goes by he/him, but I doubt you’re wrong,” Clarence says when he comes up to us. “Let’s take this in the office and I can review the tapes. If Cyril did injure another member, he will be banned.”
Swallowing my anger, I release Jay so that we can follow Clarence into the unlabeled room in the middle of the hallway. If it wasn’t for the handle, you wouldn’t even notice the door in the dim light.
Sitting down at the computer, Clarence turns the monitor to the side so that we can all see. As the footage goes, there is no sound, but that is typical in Pennsylvania. It is an all party consent state for audio recordings, so it’s usually easier for businesses to only have visual. Considering the audio doesn’t matter in this instance, I’m not worried about it.
We started watching the feed from the momentShiloh and I entered the room. I can’t hide the smirk on my face when Shiloh sits on the cushion and pops right back up, staring at his ass in wonder.
“Well that’s a happy kitty,” Clarence chuckles as he adjusts the camera to zoom in on Cyril and some other pups.
“And there it is,” he sighs. “The pack watched him from the moment he came in. They set it up.”
“They?” Jay asks. “I thought it was all Cyril. I mean he’s a pompous ass outside of here, so his behavior doesn’t really surprise me. But who else was it?”
Clarence zooms in on the screen where it shows them all talking, which should be a red flag to begin with. The pup who was injured breaks away from the group and we watch as Jay runs away from Shiloh to help.
“Where was the monitor?” I ask when Clarence switches back to the live feed and I see my boys content in their corner with a few pups randomly walking past. Toby doesn’t react to them, so I assume they are harmless.
Clarence rubs his temples and gives us a look as if he’s a single mother raising triplets.
“Theo found him balls deep in some random chick in room seven. She isn’t even a member, but he snuck her in the back entrance,” he says through gritted teeth. “Tom has never been irresponsible, but from the look in his eyes, I think he got involved in drugs or something. He is definitely high tonight, and the girl was barely cognizant, let alone sober enough for consent.
“That is the kind of shit that will get us shut down if the wrong cops are called or the wrong judge gets the case. So I called in a couple members who are on the force and sent an email to Alex to see if we can get a sympathetic judge.”
I feel for Clarence. Really, I do. But I don’t give a fuck about the club right now. Shiloh was attacked, premeditated, and so far all I’m seeing is nothing.
