He giggles and steps away to set down his shoes and grab a colorful backpack. It looks designed for a child, but it is most definitely oversized to make Lucky look smaller.

“Already packed, Daddy,” he says, looking accomplished. “I also packed snackies and juice boxes and my sippy. Uncle Eli helped.”

I mess up his hair in response but grab a pair of shorts for him before we go for the party. As much as I love that he is taking this step to try out diapers, I don’t want to show him off too much. I can’t help it if I’m a jealous Daddy.

We get to the house early to help with setting up since I am one of the seniors in charge. The house has improved greatly now that Adam and some of the other bad influences have gone off to the workforce. The remaining brothers were finally able to focus on their schoolwork instead of babysitting those idiots. I heard from Kyle, one of my pledge brothers, that the repair bill at the end of last year was only three hundred dollars and that was just a deductible to replace the carpet in one of the bedrooms. That is a huge step down from the almost twelve grand that Adam and his bros racked up the year before.

“Your boyfriend is adorable,” Kyle says to me as we carry the last of the kegs into the backyard. “Is it real or just pretend for the night?”

I nearly drop the drum of beer I’m lugging when his words register. “What do you mean?” I ask cautiously.

Kyle smirks like I’m an idiot. “Dude, you are so a Daddy if I’ve ever met one. So, did you luck into Lucky the little or just Lucky?”

My answering smirk has him giving me a playful shove before we head back into the house. Once inside, I go in search of myboy when he isn’t in the kitchen where I expected him to be. A commotion toward the front door of the house has my hair on end. Kyle takes off a second before I do when I hear it.

“Come on, little baby. I’ll give you something to suck on.”

I don’t know that voice. No one should be here yet except Thetas and our immediate guests. And whoever the fuck is talking to my boy like that is going to get his ass kicked.

“Fuck you and the inbred horse you rode in on you insufferable limp dick shit stain!”

Kyle and I barrel into the living room just in time to see a guy about my size backhand my Lucky for talking back to him. Red coats my vision and I launch myself at the man.

LUCKY

Most of the guys at the Theta house laugh at my “costume” but don’t make a fuss about it. A few give me looks like theyknowthat it’s not really playing dress up for me, but they don’t say anything. Daddy’s friend Kyle even gives me a wink to make me giggle. Overall, I’d say the first big public outing as Spencer Wright’s boyfriend is going alright.

It would be perfect except there is one guy who keeps giving me the stink eye. Right after we got here, Daddy put me to the task of putting the child safety locks on the drawers and cabinets in the kitchen. Apparently one of the brothers in the past had a tendency to try and cook while drunk, so they started to do this for parties. As soon as I finished putting the last of the sharp and pointy objects in the locked cabinet under the island, Mr. Stink eye comes into the room with one of the few people I didn’t ever want to deal with again.

“Well if it isn’t the little bitch,” Jasper Carlisle sneers at me. “Finally wearing something befitting of a sniveling ingrate, I see.”

I snort in response and move around the island to leave the room. I’ll go wait in the car and tell Daddy we’re leaving if this is the kind of crowd his fraternity will allow in.

“Big words from such a small brain,” I mutter as I bend over to grab my backpack. I’m done being the punching bag for their family. “Your cousin should take some lessons from you. All she manages to screech out isMINE MINE MINE.”

I should have expected it. It’s not like I didn’t spend over a year dealing with his taunts and abuse. The hand in the middle of my back sends me crashing over a side table in the entryway. Standing up, I notice my binky came unclipped from my shirt. I look around the floor to see if I can find it. I mean I can always buy another one, but this one is the first one that Daddy bought me.

“Looking for this?” Jasper asks, twirling my binky around by the clip. “Come on, little baby. I’ll give you something to suck on.”

The rage that boils up inside of me is like nothing I’ve ever felt before. I used to cower before this man, and with good reason honestly. He’s got easily over six inches on me in height and used to be on the football team in high school. But he’s got nothing on Spencer. Where Jasper Carlisle is a has been, Daddy works out every day and goes to martial arts classes regularly.

Thoughts of my Daddy give me courage and I growl out, “Fuck you and the inbred horse you rode in on you insufferable limp dick shit stain!”

Next thing I know, I’m being picked up off the floor by Kyle, andDaddy is in the front yard beating the ever loving shit out of Jasper Carlisle. Some of the brothers are trying to pull him off, but he shakes them off with ease. Seeing the crowd starting to appear for the party, I know I have to stop him.

“Daddy! I need help!” I call out to him, and he freezes mid swing. Eli jumps out of his car just then, and shit goes from bad to worse.

“Go help my nephew put some ice on his face,” Eli growls when he approaches the men in the yard. “I’ll finish this.”

The brothers scramble back into the house, eager to get away from this new man on the scene, but Spencer just stares him down. Jasper is just a bloody lump whimpering beneath him. It’s a battle of super testosterone, and I don’t want anything to do with it. I turn around to get Kyle’s assistance but see him frozen in place. The bigger man doesn’t even flinch when I push him out of the way to grab my backpack. He is too busy staring at my uncle and boyfriend acting like it’s high noon in the Wild Wild West.

I had intended to just wait in the car when Jasper Carlisle showed up and started tormenting me, but now I’m fucking leaving. I’m tired of letting everyone take away every single opportunity in my life. It was the Carlisle family for the last year and a half, but if I’m honest, I’ve been a doormat my entire life. It’s time I fucking end this shit once and for all. Sabrina thinks I’m a pushover. She thinks that if she can throw enough money out there that people will cover up her misdeeds.

Fuck that. Mess with me? Fine. I could have walked away if it was just me.

This time, they fucked with the man I love. No one messes with my Daddy, even if he is being a dumbass right now and will needto do a lot of groveling when we get home…

The two men on the lawn don’t even glance my way as I pull away from the house in Spencer’s car. Plucking my phone out of the front pocket of my backpack, I make a call to set things in motion. I’m tired of waiting. I want my life back.
