“Wait, Hollow?” I ask. The name is tripping me up. That wasn’t the name Sabrina gave me. Actually, come to think of it… “She said her husband’s name was Lucas. I figured since she didn’t change her name, he must have changed his to match hers. I mean he was even working for Carlisle Construction and all. I never even checked since the motel was a cash only transaction.”

Of course, Jay and Eli chose that moment to come back outside with two extra cups of coffee for us.

“So you’re saying the Carlisle cheating case was forLucky?” Eli asks incredulously. “That boy can’t lie to save his life. How in the hell would he have the guts to cheat on someone like Sabrina Carlisle?”

I shake my head at him before taking a sip. “He didn’t cheat on her,” I tell them, glancing back toward the trees. I’m hoping he’ll come back after he calms down. He can’t get anywhere without a car or his stuff.

“Uh, dude,” Eric says holding up his phone, “According to this, he did.”

Holloway Heir Exposed

Wife Abandoned for Cheap Trysts

Exclusive Interview with Sabrina Carlisle-Holloway

I snatch the phone out of his hand and start reading:

Every girl wants to be a princess, but how often do we see what happens after the wedding bells stop ringing? Cinderella supposedly got her happily ever after, but who is to say that Prince Charming didn’t step out on her? Our team sat down with the newly divorced Sabrina Carlise, ex-wife of the disgraced Lucas Anthony Holloway, former heir to Holloway Industries.

Staff:Ms. Carlisle, how did you discover your husband was being unfaithful?

Sabrina:Well, to be honest, I didn’t want to believe it was possible. With how much Mrs. Holloway, my mother-in-law, preaches of the importance of fidelity, I initially dismissed it when James, his former roommate, brought it to my attention.

Staff:So, you didn’t catch him directly?

Sabrina:No, unfortunately. He lied every time, saying he had business meetings with clients to help expand my father’s construction company.

Staff:What happened after James told you?

Sabrina:At first, I didn’t want to believe it, you know? I swore till death do us part, but apparently it didn’t mean the same to him. I should have paid closer attention to the pre-nup he forced me to sign, but I was in love.

Staff:Tell us more about this pre-nuptial agreement.

Sabrina:It basically said that if we divorce or he dies, I would get nothing. It was incentive to stay married to him, but I just couldn’t take the lies anymore.

Staff:With such an agreement in place, how did you get the judge to rule in your favor?

Sabrina:James convinced me to get a private investigator to get proof of the infidelity, so I tried for weeks to get someone to listen to me, to go up against a powerhouse family name like the Holloways. Finally, an old elementary school friend offered his help. He got me the proof I needed to get the judge to see the truth.

Staff:Can we include these photos in the article? Are they protected by any privileges?

Sabrina:I’ve consulted my lawyer and he told me that I’m free to share the photographs since they were taken in a public space and the photographer, my friend, handed them over willingly.

Staff:What happened after the judge ruled in your favor?

Sabrina:Lucas just disappeared. He somehow managed to empty out our bank account and took off for God only knows where. Then, my father called me to let me know he had done the same with Carlisle Construction. Lucas Holloway embezzled millions, stole hundreds of thousands of dollars from his family, and disappeared. No one has seen him since he bought a used car and left the city two days ago.

Staff:Do you regret getting involved with him?

Sabrina:I made a mistake sleeping with him when he pressured me at a fraternity party my sophomore year of college. That night resulted in a pregnancy where he used his money to convince me to keep the baby. His mother forced us to marry, while his father forced the pre-nup. After we were married he drank to the point of abusiveness. I lost the baby because of his addiction.

Staff:Are you pressing charges against your ex-husband?

Sabrina:I just want to know he is safe. As for any charges, that is up to the police investigating the matter.

Staff:Thank you for your time today, Ms. Carlisle and we wish you well in your future. With luck, you will find a man who is truly worthy of you.
