“The reason she’s at my place has nothing to do with me wanting to fuck her or not.”

“But do you?” Cheekz demanded and placed her hands on her hips.

I sighed and dragged my hand down my face. “Listen, I respect the fact that the last two years you catered to me. But make no mistake about it. I said when you stepped into that position that I don’t share my pussy with no nigga. I told youthat you could be replaced at any time without warning. I told you that I was looking for a replacement for Delite,” I declared.

That was a lie. There was no way that September would ever be a sweet butt.

“And is that what she is? Seems to me like she’s more than that,” Cheekz asserted, calling me out on my lie.

“Listen, you said you were good with our arrangement; you were just in it for fun.”

“And we did have fun, Priest. But two years have passed. This is my life.”

“Yeah? And this is my life, too, the one you claimed you accepted.”

“So, you’re saying that it meant nothing to you, Priest?”

“You filled a role, Cheekz, that you volunteered for.”

“I hoped that it would be more than just a role.”

“When you came to my bed that first night, I said I wasn’t looking for an old lady, just convenient pussy. And you said you’d make it as convenient and easy for me as I needed it to be.”

“I did.”

“I never led your ass on. Don’t fucking come at me like that. You know what this was.”

“Was?” she asked. She turned her gaze away from me, crossed her arms over her breasts, and huffed out a sigh. “I could be that woman you need.”

“I have no doubt that you could, Cheekz,” I confirmed. I gripped her chin and turned her to face me. “But let’s face it. You took a few college classes, dropped out because you made more money shaking your ass, and then you decided to be a club whore. Those were your choices. Nobody forced you to do that shit.”

“So, what am I supposed to do now?”

“Go back to school. The MC will pay for it.”

The tears fell from her eyes. “Does she mean all that to you?”

“I ain’t got no problem if you just wanna fuck, Cheekz. But don’t expect anything more than that from me. I ain’t got more in me to offer. I’m sorry.”

I didn’t say anything.

“Why don’t you just let me go?” Cheekz hissed as tears fell from her eyes. I reached out for her, but she backed away.

“You can go, Cheekz. I’m sorry. I can’t be what you need.”

“But you can be what she needs?” She cried.

“One thing ain’t got shit to do with the other. You didn’t start putting demands on me until she came around.”

“And you didn’t come up missing until she came around,” Cheekz countered.

“I thought you respected the boundary lines I set in place. I swear I never tried to hurt you.”

“You can’t tell that to my heart. It wants what it wants, but I guess you know that, huh?” Cheekz turned and stormed out of my office. I heard her sharp voice shout, “Bitch, please! Don’t fucking apologize to me!” outside of my office just before September stepped inside.

“You done?” September asked in a sharp tone.

“I told you I’d be back.”
