Page 40 of Truth or Spare

“That sounds…memorable.” Dewey tried to picture it but his brain was melting as Theo swung forward and planted a hand next to his shoulder.

“Hardly the sort of thing you forget. But the rest of it…” Theo shook his head and lowered so he could kiss Dewey. “A fun, numb blur. That’s all I ever wanted before. But I don’t want to forget a second of this and I don’t want to stop.”

“Don’t.” Dewey sucked on his lips and tongue, crying as pleasure and pressure coiled in his core. He never imagined he’d feel anything as good or have anything as beautiful as Theo.

“Mein Gott, Brooks!” he gasped and pushed himself upright. “You feel so good!” Theo’s teeth dug into his lower lip as the sound of his ass slapping against Dewey’s hips echoed through the Winnie.

Dewey should have cared that Bryce might come out and see it bouncing or Cassie could stop by and hear them from the parking lot. But he was too lost in the joy and pleasure and was tickled that it was actually him, getting off witha manbehind the bowling alley. It was finally happening and Dewey wasn’t screwing it up. From the way Theo was swearing and sweating, it looked like it was going really well.

“Oh, Fuck! Broo—!” Theo sobbed like a siren before Dewey clapped a hand over his mouth.

“Shh!” Dewey was laughing until he felt Theo clench tight, tight, tight as his eyes rolled and his body bucked hard. Cumflicked onto Dewey’s chest and he stared, dazed and wildly in love as Theo smeared his fingers through it. He shoved them into Dewey’s mouth and the Winnie burst into bright light. “Theo!”

A rush of heat and throbbing pleasure rolled from Dewey’s core as cum pumped from his cock, flooding the condom. His nerves flickered as his heart hammered and it was glorious, feeling so much warmth and satisfaction, instead of fatigue and strain. Dewey couldn’t remember the last time he had felt that connected and aware of his body without the pain and heaviness. He was so light and everything tingled in the loveliest way.

Dewey locked an arm around Theo and rolled them onto their side. “Thank you,” he whispered, sweeping the hair away from Theo’s face and kissing him tenderly. “It’s been so long.”

Theo made a dreamy, drunken, humming sound as he hooked a leg around Dewey’s hip and scooted closer. “Any time,” he said and draped an arm around Dewey’s neck.

“You feel like…magic,” Dewey whispered against Theo’s lips. “And it’s been a long time since I haven’t felt like I was tired and broken.”

“Good. I didn’t want you to do too much with your arms or your hands.” Theo petted Dewey’s beard and traced his lips. “There are so many ways you can satisfy me without hurting yourself.”

“I wanna try ‘em all,” Dewey blurted, then squeezed an eye shut. “At least, I think I do. I’ve done things to myself with a toy, but I’m still really nervous about my…butt,” he mumbled and Theo laughed softly.

“You have absolutely no reason to be. We’ll go slowly and you’ll be in charge. Because it’s your…butt,” he said before biting back a giggle. “Why do you have a butt and not anass?” he said in his exaggerated American again. “Or an arse?”

Dewey rolled his eyes. “Because it’s mine and it’s…just a butt.” He reached around and gave Theo’s cheek an appreciative squeeze and didn’t let go. “Thisis an ass,” he stated with a firm nod, making Theo roll his eyes.

“How is it different from this?” His hand slid down Dewey’s spine and Theo hummed happily as he scratched at the dusting of hair and cupped possessively.

“Nah. It’s just big and hairy.Yourass is perfect, Theo. Everyone says so.”

A wide smile spread across Theo’s face. “Is that so?”

“I don’t know why I’m feeding your ego, but you should have heard Judith and the rest of the blue hairs earlier. I forgot how raunchy those ‘ladies’ can get,” he complained and Theo burst into laughter.

“Why is that so funny? I’ve known most of those women my whole life,” Dewey said, sending Theo into a wheezing fit.

“I hate to be the one to break it to you, but I wasn’t the first one to call you a ‘gorgeous tree of a man.’”

Chapter Eighteen

It had taken him a few weeks, but Theo had mastered the art of the five-minute shower. Now, his morning routine was an exercise in efficiency and Theo was extra impressed with himself for completing it without disturbing Dewey. He was still snoring softly at the other end of the Winnie while Theo dabbed a caffeine serum under his eyes.

Always an early riser, Theo let Walter out to do his business and contemplated their options while drinking his tea and watching Dewey sleep. He was reasonably certain that Dewey wouldn’t run him off for being a royal anymore, but he had waited too long. Theo couldn’t imagine how Dewey wouldn’t feel like he had been deceived.

But in Theo’s defense, there never seemed to be an ideal time to bring it up. And Theo would simply forget, he was so enthralled with his pretend American life. He had been enamored with the novelty of his little camper and the slower, more relaxed pace of life in Oslo. The freedom of living outside of the Foundation’s scrutiny and societal expectations had been liberating and Theo wasn’t in a hurry to relinquish any of it.

He liked how well he was fitting in and had no way of knowing how Dewey, Cassie, Bryce, Keith, Lidia, and the restof his new friends would treat him after they found out. Theo didn’t want a thing to change, but he knew it was inevitable. He couldn’t hide the truth forever and Theo had already set the wheels of discovery in motion by contacting the owner of a bowling alley franchise in Syracuse.

He was confident that he had found the solution to Dewey’s staffing problem, but there would be too many questions for Theo to tap dance around. And he didn’t want to anymore. Not with Dewey, at least. He deserved to know the truth and Theo didn’t want to ruin his chances with Dewey.

After spending a night together and waking up tangled in large, furry, tattooed limbs, Theo was even more convinced that he was right where he belonged. He just had to break the news to Dewey and figure out what came next. Theo was under no illusions about how many obstacles they would face,ifDewey forgave him for hiding the truth. It would be challenging, merging Theo’s complicated family and the realities of his life as a royal with Dewey’s responsibilities to his family, his business, and the community he loved.

Theo wasn’t afraid ofanyof that and found that he wanted Dewey’s responsibilities to be his too. And mostly, Theo wanted Dewey to behisresponsibility. He wasn’t great at bowling alley management—yet—but Theo could take very good care of Dewey and be incredibly happy doing it.

He smothered a chirping giggle, elated at how perfectly it could all work out. He had called to confirm that competent, qualifiedhelp was on the way while he was outside with Walter. Theo was finally going to come clean and ask Dewey if he could stay. Not as an employee, but as Dewey’s…
