Running through the scrubby bushland, my heavy feet give away my location as I choose speed over stealth. I’ve tried the slow quiet approach before and compared to Hush, I suck.
So, speed it is.
I know she’s fast, but I’m going on the theory that my stride size will get me over the line, for a little while at least. But fuck, just knowing that Hush is out here in the dark with me somewhere, stalking me, has my dick as hard as a rock.
Dee has two versions of herself. One that’s quiet, chill, and smiles with sweetness. The other side smirks with sinister desires and takes what she wants. Sometimes, when I have Dee writhing under me, the two versions collide, giving me a feisty little brat. And fuck do I love that version of her where she’s stuck in between her two personas. It’s honestly who I think she really is. The real Elodie Porter. And it’s a side of herself that only I ever get to see.
Tonight though, Hush is on my tail and an exciting shiver of fear travels up my spine in knowing that.
She could kill me if she wanted to. It would be so easy for her, but she never seems to go completely to that dark place anymore. Not since waking up in the hospital days after killing Bianca Kerr.
Since that day, she hasn’t killed anyone.
Or hadn’t until earlier tonight.
After Dee’s dance concert earlier today, we geared up and went with Griffin and his men to a small, yet popular local church.
The Valley of the Trinity and Merciful Fellowship.
Sounds like a fucking cult, if you ask me, but the name is not unfamiliar. I’ve heard kids at school talk about this church that their parents go to, and now I have to wonder if Carnal Unicorn isn’t even bigger locally than we originally thought.
The Priest and Minister, two brothers, were lucky enough to meet Hush in person, and Griffin stood back, letting her show those sick fucks just how unmerciful she can be. While it was a sight to behold to see Hush back in action, it was also brutal. She didn’t hold back, making sure the two men suffered excruciating torture before they finally stopped breathing and Griffin’s men set the church alight in an inferno that is likely to cause a stir in the Timber Valley district.
A rustling in nearby bushes has me forgetting all about everything that happened as I pick up my pace, knowing my stalker is getting closer.
I skid to a stop as I push through the bushes, my feet sinking in the sandy bank of Lake Woodall, my head darting around under the moonlit shore to try to spot my predator.
Air shifting behind me has me whipping around, only to see nothing but the bushes I came through.
Then something taps my shoulder.
My heart lurches as I dart around, coming face to face with Hush.
Her grin is sinister as fuck, and her blade, Thana, is now at my throat as she flashes her teeth in satisfaction.
“Tell me to stop,” she hisses, and my heart flips.
She’s using my tactics.
Naughty little pocket rocket.
Clamping my lips shut, she grins wider, excitement flaring her dark eyes wide as she shifts closer as she presses Thana a little harder to my skin, so much so that it starts to sting.
Shit. She just cut me.
Her dark hair swirls out behind her as the breeze picks up, and if I didn’t know who she was, I’d almost say she was inhuman. A creature of the night, ready to make her kill.
My dick jerks.
“Tell me to stop,” she hisses again. And again, I stay quiet, giving her back her own treatment.
The blade bites deeper into my skin, and for a flash, I wonder if perhaps she might actually kill me.
Lightning fast, I find myself tumbling back, my feet being kicked out from under me as Hush ninjas me, and before I know it, I’m flat on my back on the cool sand with an assassin straddling my lap.
My eyes widen in surprise, but she doesn’t give me much time to react before she tosses Thana to the side and drags her tongue over the cut she made, licking up the trail of blood.
Fuck, that’s hot, and all of a sudden we are both lost to the primal need to claim each other.
