Fuck. No.

Dee!

My heart races as I watch Griffin suck in some deep breaths, dropping his chin to his chest and putting his hands on his hips while he thinks. Then he barks some more orders, pointing stern fingers at his men before they nod and return to the car.

The moment Griffin darts his head in our direction, I straighten, ready to fight this motherfucker if he doesn’t fucking fill us in on what has happened.

He speaks to some of his other men who are guarding the house and then he storms up the path and comes inside.

“What the fuck happened?” I snap, and Griffin huffs.

“My men went to the Kerr house in Mercy Court. It was empty, trashed, and they found a lot of blood.”

An audible gasp flies from William, but Griffin holds his hands up.

“Hang on, let me finish. We don’t believe it’s Dee’s blood. We know Adam Kerr had been keeping Cassie, Travis’ foster sister, captive. The blood looks old, so we think it’s hers. The problem is, we don’t know where they are. The Kerrs have a lot of places they could be hiding out. An obvious one is the lake house, which we thought may be too obvious, but I don’t think Bianca Kerr is trying to hide. So our next best bet is that they have relocated their operation to the lake. My men are going to run surveillance on it now.”

“Surveillance? Fuck that! Just go the fuck in there and get my girl!”

Griffin glares at me. “Stop thinking with your fucking heart, Crow. That shit will get Dee and everyone else killed. She’s a smart and skilled girl. She can handle herself for a while. We need to know what we are walking into, so suck it up for a bit longer. Once we have more intel, we will go in and make sure the Kerrs never fucking breathe again.”

I want to believe Griffin, that Dee has the skill to handle this situation, but then I keep thinking of Adam’s words.

Sure, Dee can handle a fight, but rape?

Fuck. I can’t even bear to think of what he could be doing to her right now.

DEE

Pain explodes across my cheek as Bianca Kerr proves that she is definitely here to make my life a living hell. Something wet and warm runs down my face, over my jawline and down my neck as I slowly turn my gaze back to the large woman. One glance at the rocks on her fingers tells me that the wet sensation on my face is most definitely blood, caused by those chunky rings she’s wearing, piercing my flesh.

“You little cow! Say something!” she hisses, and I just smirk.

Yep. I’ve returned to keeping silent, and it’s infuriating her.

I’m hoping it gives me more time. She wants answers. Details about what happened the day her sister killed my dad, and in turn, I killed her sister.

The moment I spill those details, I’m dead, so now she’s dealing with the quiet version of me.

The silent Hush.

“Bianca! Please, stop!” Travis cries out from across the room, where he has now been bound to a large concrete post. There’s no way he’s escaping that.

“You disappoint me, Travis.” Bianca sneers. “After everything I’ve done for you. Everything I’ve taught you. Here you are defending the girl that killedyourmum.” Stepping away from where I’m now bound by my wrists to an overhead beam hanging like a sack, Bianca ambles towards my brother. “She stabbed her, Travis. Remember? Not just once or twice, but forty-three times. Forty-three times, Travis!”

“She deserved it,” Travis hisses with venom lacing his tone, and Bianca gasps before closing the distance and back handing him.

“Take that back!” she screams, sounding more and more unhinged.

“Let me fuck her voice outta her.” Adam snickers from the side of the room where he’s been sitting casually, puffing on a smoke, looking bored. “I’ll get her talking again.”

Bianca straightens from where she’s glaring down into Travis’ face, his body slumped, but struggling against the bonds that keep him bound to the post.

“Not yet,” Bianca snaps. “But Cassie looks like she wants some more.”

My eyes widen as I take in Travis’ foster sister, naked and curled in a ball in the far back corner of the basement. Her whimpers increase when Adam stands from the chair and my eyes dart to Travis’ to gauge his reaction.
