“Yes, Aggie. I’m not in the business of killing for sport or because someone stole my lunch. Death is delivered by my hand only to the worst of the worst.”

“Rapists?”

“Yes.” He nods.

“Child sex offenders?”

“Yes.” He nods again.

“Do you see me as a child sex offender?”

He frowns, darting his eyes back to me. “No.”

“But you know I was involved with a minor, right?” I feel sick as I say those words, hating that I’m guilty.

“I’ve been made aware that Rhys George was consenting, and the circumstances were very different, given her experience.”

“It still doesn’t make it right.” I mutter, dropping my gaze to my lap.

“She’s your friend, though, right? I heard your phone call with her in the car the other day. She doesn’t seem threatened by you.”

“You heard that?” I dart my wide eyes back to him.

“Yes. And I heard the regret in your tone. So let me ask you this. Do you think she sees you as a predator?”

I shrug.

“Do you think she sees the master of the club and his wife as predators?”

“Yes.” I answer quickly, and he offers me a warm smile when I glance back at him.

“She wouldn’t be your friend if she thought you were a bad person, Aggie. How about you cut yourself some slack?”

Sighing, I nod and glance out the window, watching the trees pass by.

“Does your family know?” I ask, not looking at him.

“About your involvement at the sex club?” he asks, and I nod. “No.”

Relief washes over me, lifting the heavy weight that had settled over my chest.

I have my demons, but so does Griffin Marx. Perhaps that’s what draws me to him so easily. It’s a nice feeling to know someone accepts you and all of your flaws and mistakes.

Griffin

She’shardonherself. It’s not necessarily a bad thing, but I wish I could take all her worries away. Life isn’t that simple, though. Especially my life. Which is why this Goddess will fit in so well. Because her life hasn’t been easy either.

I admit, I was worried that she’d want to run screaming in the other direction when she learnt that I do in fact kill people, but she seemed comforted by the fact that they are always the scum of the earth that need to be sent straight to hell. Those fuckers deserved the death I delivered, and when I join them in hell eventually, I’ll be sure to make them suffer again.

I won’t ever admit this to Aggie, but when I first found out about her involvement in the Vixen’s Lodge scandal, I was ready to deliver her to hell like the others, but the more I investigated her, the more it didn’t add up. She’s no predator. And after a thorough investigation into Rhys George’s involvement in the club, it became apparent that the minor had a small group of members that tended to stick by her most of the time, which, in a twisted way, helped protect her.

My Agatha was one of them, and shedidform a friendship with the girl, even if they sometimes crossed the line. It was probably better it be Aggie than some of the other sick fucks out there.

It sounds all kinds of wrong, which is why I’ve tried to do everything I can to make sure Agatha Fiera’s name never comes up in relation to the scandal. I don’t want people to judge her. She doesn’t deserve to be put in the same class as other predators.

My little elf wants honesty from me, so I plan on giving her that, and hopefully it will help her to reveal the other skeletons in her closet. I know there’s more about this woman that I don’t know and can’t find through my investigative channels, but I fully intend on breaking down her walls so that one day she trusts me enough to reveal her real self to me.
