Page 136 of Rush of Jealousy

“Shut the fuck up, dickwad!”

Logan turns back toward me, throwing his arm around my shoulder, which I politely shrug off. He leans in dangerously close to my ear, whispering, “I sure as hell am not tatting your ass with some boy’s name.”

I swallow and nod.

“Because that’s the sure way to end any relationship, or booty call. That’s where I draw the line,” he says.

Humor plays across his features, and I can’t help but laugh.

“That’s only because he’s famous for his horrible spelling!” the redhead yells out from behind the body jewelry counter, earning herself a middle finger.

My phone buzzes from the pocket of my jacket. I pull it out and see it is Graham calling. “Please tell me you are not getting a unicorn tattoo.”

I laugh into the receiver. “You need to quit spying on me, Graham. You said you would be discreet. This is not being discreet.”

“Put Logan on the phone.”

“Wait. How? You—”

“We are old high school buddies. We often got together for lunch when I had more of a set schedule at work. He may even recognize you since he has seen your picture on my office desk.”

Huh, that is why I look familiar to him.

“Logan?”

“Yes, sweets?”

“My boyfriend, Graham Hoffman, wants to have a word with you.” I pass him the phone, biting my lip to hide my smirk.

“You have got to be shitting me,” he mutters under his breath. “Well, I’ll be damned. What are the freaking chances?” He grabs the phone from my hand and keeps his eyes on me while he talks into the receiver. “I almost had your girl in my chair. Tatting her with some other dude’s name.” Logan throws his head back and laughs. “You got it so bad. This is going to be such fun now that I know her curiosity is piqued. Yeah, yeah, I’ll send her on her way. No, wouldn’t dream of it, you possessive asshole.”

It is entertaining listening to someone other than me dish attitude back to Grumpy Graham. Logan stays on the phone a minute longer, and I can tell he is listening to Graham rattle on. He hands me the device back, and I can tell Graham is amused.

“Interested in a tattoo or piercing, my rebel girl?” he asks seductively.

I want to reply with something sexual just to make him wonder, but at this moment, all three workers are staring at me. “I may just get my ears pierced. Too bad I am terrified of needles.”

“If you want them done, I would love to supply your jewelry to wear. But wait until I’m there with you to support you and hold your hand.”

“If I leave now, I won’t come back because I’ll lose the courage.”

“I can be there in five minutes. Just wait.”

“Okay,” I say, as he disconnects the call.

“Today is the day?” Logan asks eagerly.

“I want a nose ring and an eyebrow one. But we have to hurry before Graham gets here and tries to fill my head with reason.”

“Okay, let me wash and glove up.”

“I’m teasing!”

“Ah, you got my hopes up. Making Graham lose his shit is what I strive for in life.”

“Because you have zero ambitions,” Red goads.

“Shut up.”
