“Is Anders aware?”

“Sent the info as soon as I received it and came up here.”

“I’ll meet you downstairs shortly.”

“Boss.” The breakfast turns up as David opens the door to leave, and I direct the waiter to place it on the table. I realise I’m still standing in my towel and don’t have any cash to tip him, David still standing at the door, holds it open and clears his throat. He’s gained the waiter’s attention and glances down at the cash he’s holding out. Understanding the unspoken direction, he walks out taking the money and thanking him as he goes, with David follows behind.

Emerging from the bathroom, Kelcie has her body and hair wrapped up in towels.

“Foods here. How are you feeling?”

“I’m good,” the smile returns to her face, as she sits on the bed.

“Eat and get dressed, we need to get back to The Sicuro. There are some fresh clothes for you in the bag.” She does as I ask, as she gets up, she lets her towel fall from around her, her naked body making my dick revive. She walks past me to the waiting food, slightly bending over to look over the table. She’s teasing me, and it’s making me want to throw her on the bed. Rubbing my hands down my face I groan, as much as I want to fuck her, things need to be dealt with. I smack her ass just before I walk off to get showered, leaving her to eat.

Within the hour we are on our way to The Sicuro when she asks me what’s going to happen now, and I know she’s referring to what went down in the basement last night.

“I still need you to stay safe. We know it’s O’Connell who orchestrated everything, and he’s not yet been located. When his man doesn’t answer his calls, he will know something has gone down and he will become irate and slip up somewhere.”

“How do you know he will?”

“He’s not one to keep his emotions in check, lets them take over and he fucks up. It won’t be the first time.”

“Could I at least come to The Sicuro for a change of scenery? I feel too confined in the house.”

Looking over at her, she has a devious small smirk on her lips and her eyes lustful.

“Yes, but either Anders or David may have to take you home later.”

“Ok Thank you.” Her grin takes over her lips as if she has won a debate.

I have Anders scout outside The Sicuro before we pull up around the back to make sure no one sees Kelcie. O’Connell thinks she’s dead and for now, I need to keep it that way, so he concentrates his efforts on me. If his past attempts are anything to go by, I suspect it’s going to be trying to burn The Sicuro down which will fail considering how the place is built and protected. It would be amusing watching him try. Every possible attack was considered when the place was refurbished, from vandalism, arson, and a riot attack. Allwindows are bullet and shatterproof, the fire safety system is the best there is and the ground floor doesn’t house anything other than a reception foyer for safety reasons.

In my office, Kelcie makes herself comfortable on the couch, her headphones in listening to a podcast, she seems content. I look further into O’Connell’s boat, and something feels off, it was too much blood, and signing his business over, when did he do this? He was trying to sell it. Anders comes in letting me know that everything was cleaned up and disposed of at The Manor appropriately. He has the guy’s phone and is monitoring it waiting for any calls.

After a few hours of looking into O’Connell, I discovered that the boat wasn’t adrift and was anchored down in a spot where it would be easily found. The boat, he bought a few weeks back, claiming it as a business expense, new set for productions. He did in fact sign Pulse Entertainment over but not to his son, and only a day before the boat was found. I discussed this with Anders and my thoughts that he isn’t dead but wanted to be perceived this way.

Hours pass as I try and find out more but fail, igniting my annoyance. Kelcie fell asleep on the couch not long after she got settled and has been asleep since. Her body clearly needed the rest after the last 24hours. I received notification that the designer has completed the adaptations that Kelcie requested, and they need final sign off to start. I walk over to the couch and gently wake her.

“The designer has the plans for you to review. She will be at the house at 5pm, Anders will take you back.”

“Can you take me?”

“OK, I have some things to finish up, but I can do them back at the house.”

I’m sitting at the breakfast bar with my computer as Miss Burnett meets with Kelcie to go over the designs. Kelcie is more confident in herself now, asking for minor alterations so that they match what she wants. She has an air about herself, like something has changed in her and she now knows how strong she is.

“Thank you, Miss Burnett, when can I expect refurbishment to begin?”

“I can have it started on Wednesday, the expectation for completion will be by the end of the following week.”

“Great. Let me show you out.” As Kelcie stands, Miss Burnett follows.

“Oh, your apartment has now been completed and ready for occupancy.”

Kelcie stops and looks at Miss Burnett with confusion.

“Mr DeMarco authorised the refurbishment. Due to the smoke damage, the works took longer than expected. However, everything has been restored to the original state.”
