Her door pulled open and her plump lips tilted up slightly. “Morning, boys.”
My heart skipped a beat as it always did when she looked at us with so much affection. “Little omega, how’s your morning?”
She stepped into our room, her scent stronger, trying to pull me in that direction. After she shut her door, she turned back towards us, her hands going to her back pocket of her denimshorts. Fuck, I might die today with her thighs on display. “I didn’t sleep that well, honestly.”
I knew why, but did she? “Anything wrong?”
Her nose scrunched up. “Just a little bit of a stomach ache.”
“I bet,” Alfie mumbled.
“Excuse me?”
“Just thinking out loud.” He smiled at her. “I was going to say I better go make you breakfast.”
Her smile shined at him, and my alpha was instantly jealous, even though she belonged to him too. “Thanks Alfie. I’m not too hungry though.”
I needed to talk to her. Needed to prepare her because I didn’t think she realized just what was happening. But then she inhaled and sighed happily and I got sidetracked and asked, “You okay?”
“It just smells really good in here. Like really good. Your scents are…” She smiled as she thought about it. “Perfect.”
“It’s all we can ask for really, that our omega likes our scents, I mean.” Felix stepped forward. “Let’s go eat. We can’t spend our day here. We’ve got work to do at the office.”
He was right. We couldn’t spend our day here, but I was getting weary of taking our omega out, and after we let her leave the property once, it was all she wanted to do. I didn’t blame her. She’d spent too much of her life locked in the Omega Industries, but if any man looked at her now, I might be forced to kill him.
She was mine.
And with that alluring scent that surrounded her, I knew she was bound to draw attention. Being unmarked was a risk. I needed to talk to her, needed let her know that if we didn’t mark her soon, her heat would hit, and it would attract all the alphas to our doors.
But I had time. A week, minimum. That was plenty of time to figure out just how we’d do it. Just how we’d make her ours… officially.
I took my time meeting them in the kitchen, gathering my thoughts on what needed to be done before we were indisposed for however long our omega's heat took her. Did she want children this cycle? Should we try? We could use a block, but that was my last resort. The thought of not allowing my omega to catch did not sit right with my alpha. He wanted her full and round with our children.
What about suppressants? Should I have given her the option? I should ask. I definitely needed to ask. I?—
"I thought Felix was going to eat all of your breakfast," Sydney announced when I stepped into the room.
"Do you want suppressants?" I blurted out.
"What?" Her brows scrunched up adorably, and I fought the urge to step closer and smooth out the lines of concern.
"For your heat?"
"I've told you, I can't go into heat."
"You can." I promised, "You are. Hadn't I proved to you that I could force it upon you if I wished?"
"I am not." She laughed before flipping her hair. "I know you want children, Luka. That was your purpose in wanting an omega. But even with your reassurance on what you and your alpha can do... you should be prepared for the fact that we may never have kids. You haven't marked me yet. If you want to return me?—"
A growl rumbled out of me, forcing its way past my lips before I could even process the action. The fact that she would even ask spoke to the insecurities she still had about being here with us. She was right that we hadn't marked her yet. We hadn't bedded her either. But we weren't going to be like some otherbrutal units and force ourselves upon her. We wanted trust and affection just as much as we wanted an omega.
I stepped up close to our omega, my body towering over hers. "Never. Do you understand that? We'd never return you to that place, even if that meant we'd never have children. Even if all of our kind depended on the heirs we could produce and I knew I'd fail, I'd never return you to that place. You have my word, little omega, and my alpha's too."
She looked away, but her small hands reached for my shirt, gripping the material tightly. The slight tug at the cotton also tugged at my heart as she held on tight. Finally, she tipped her head toward mine and stood. Still so very small in comparison to my towering height. My eyes lingered on her lips, my mind suddenly consumed with thoughts of devouring her mouth and claiming her.
Her little pink tongue darted out, moistening her lips, and I could have died right then from the restraint of not crushing my body against hers and claiming what was mine. After her lip was briefly assaulted by her teeth, she spoke. "I know you keep saying you won't return me. But what I don't understand is why?"
"Because you're ours," Felix cut in, the words leaving him automatically, without a thought to it.
