After I was dressed, I gathered my dirty clothing and walked toward the door, stopping when the luscious scent of cinnamon and pine pushed at me. Pausing, I looked around while I inhaled, following the wafts of deliciousness to the hamper. I looked at the hamper, his clothes laying on top that he had worn today.I knew I shouldn't. I'd never been a thief. Still, my omega whimpered and begged, demanding I take what wasn't mine.

My fingers reached forward, gripping the soft cotton shirt, and before I realized it, I was bringing the material to my nose, inhaling. A moan escaped me. My omega liked the scent of the alpha. She liked it very much.

"You okay in there?" I jumped as Alfie knocked.

"Yes," I squeaked out as I stared at the material held tight in my grip. I should put it down. It didn't belong to me. But my omega refused to let me relinquish my grip. Instead, I bundled my clothing around the shirt, hiding it from their view, then opened the bathroom door.

Three pairs of eyes were standing, waiting.

I tried to take what Alfie and Felix told me, believing I could talk openly with them. "H-had you all been there this whole time?"

They looked between each other, their guilt clear. Still, the alpha denied it. "We were just staying close in case you needed anything. But we weren't waiting here."

Felix cleared his throat. "That would be weird."

I fought not to smile as I spoke. "And there is nothing weird here."

"Nothing," Alfie confirmed, the corner of his lip tilting as he realized I was teasing them slightly. "Let me get those for you."

Alfie reached for the bundle of clothes in my hand, and I pulled back. "No." He paused mid reach, his hurt clear. "I'm sorry. I just meant these are my clothes. I'll keep them."

"We have a service that does the wash," Felix pointed out.

"I - It's an omega's job to tend to the house," I reminded them.

"Well, yes. If they wish. But we'd not require you to do so," Felix stated.

"Do you wish to tend to the house, little omega?" Luka asked, curious.

"I- I don't know," I answered honestly because I didn't know. I was trained to care for a home. But that was what the industries told me I needed to do, I should do, was required to do, and not really what I wanted to do.

"You can have whatever you want, always," Felix reminded me. "Don't need to decide now."

"Omega. Go to your nest and get some sleep. It's late. Tomorrow, we’ll show you around and talk about expectations," Luka ordered.

"Yes, Alpha." I walked past him swiftly, hoping he couldn't tell that I was guilty. I was a thief. I was clinging so tight to the pile of clothes in my hand, I had to look suspicious, but I couldn't help it. My omega would never have been content if I didn't take the shirt.

I had just reached the door to my nest, a single foot inside when Luka spoke again. "And omega?"

"Yes, Alpha." I spun around so fast my glasses slipped down my nose. I pushed them up, vowing to wear my contacts more now that I had a reason to.

"Anything you want of ours is yours. It's our honor and brings us great satisfaction that you wish to have a piece of us with you." His eyes burned into me, stating without words that he knew I had a piece of his clothing with me. "Understand?"

My lips trembled as I turned, entering my sacred space. "Yes, Alpha. I understand."

He stood at the doorway, leaning against the door frame, but he wouldn't enter. Not without an invitation. "Good. Good night, little omega. Sweet dreams."

He pulled the door closed gently, and when he was out of sight, I whispered back, "Sweet dreams."

Knowing damn well the dreams my omega was suddenly concocting weren't nearly as sweet as an omega should be thinking. If anything, the new thoughts that surfaced made me squirm, unsure what to do with how I felt. But... I had a weird feeling I'd soon find out.

CHAPTER EIGHT

FELIX

"She's a delicious little thing," I stated as I watched Alfie flip pancakes.

"So fucking sweet too," Alfie added. "I can't wait to get her out of her shell."
