Geo snorted another laugh, then tore out the first page and gave it to Mig. “Call Trey.”
“Yeah,” Mig agreed, taking his phone out as he grabbed the list.
“Bring her a snack when you’re done. Some fruit or shit. And a drink, too.”
Sailor watched Mig disappear into the kitchen, then looked back at Geo. He was smirking at her, looking her over as he leaned back. “How bout you come finish what you started?” he asked, stroking the bulge in his pants.
Sailor looked away quickly, embarrassed.
“I think you wanna, Rue. I think you been thinkin’ on it. Come on over here,” he chuckled, patting his thigh.
“I… I can’t start until I get all those things, but I can start writing the program? The code? If you have a laptop or something?”
“Your own laptop work?” he asked, still amused.
“Yeah! Yes, it’ll work. You have it?”
“It was in your backpack. I’ll have Mig bring it in later. How bout you lay down here ‘n try ‘n nap a bit. C’mere,” he demanded, pulling her to lay her head in his lap.
“I thought he was going to bring me a snack?” she asked breathlessly, going tense all over. She didn’t like being inches from the dick he’d just suggested she put in her mouth.
He’d just teased her about putting it in her mouth.
He’d teased her. Laughed. He’d been laughing and almost jovial…
That made her feel uneasy.
She lay there stiffly until Mig returned with a little bowl of sliced apples. Sitting up quickly and scooting down the couch, she took the bowl and curled up around it, refusing to look at Geo.
He said nothing, just moving his phone to open and look at it.
As soon as she set the bowl down, Geo spoke up. “She need a nap, Mig. Take her up to the room across from mine.”
“Yeah,” Mig agreed, coming in and motioning her up.
Sailor stood and let him lead her up the stairs, looking around the house. No… it was a mansion. She’d read about them but never seen one in person.
“How long has he lived here?” she asked Mig as he opened a door for her.
“‘Bout 7 months? His old place was nice, too, but he upgrades and moves. He’s restless. Already seen him looking at new places. Get some rest,” he told her, pulling the door closed.
Sailor looked around the vast room, then went to the bed and used the steps to climb up in the canopied king bed. The room was done all in coral and teal, like it was made for a girl, and the furnishings and bedding were also feminine. Is this where he kept his girlfriends? Or family? Did he have a family?
Curling up, she sighed and fell asleep.
Chapter 20
Justin woke her, and Sailor glared at him as she sat up. He stepped back, then gestured to the door. “Geo wants you downstairs? Told me to come get you? Said to tell you you had clothes to change into? Mig put them in here earlier? I think that’s them there at the foot of the bed. Uhh… will you get dressed, or do I need to…”
“Get out, asshole. I’ll get dressed and come down on my own,” she told him angrily, sliding off the high bed.
“He said…”
“Get out! I’ll be down in a minute!” she yelled, then threw her shoe at him as she took it off.
Justin fled.
Sailor quickly changed into the dress and opened the door as she pinned her hair up and looked up at Davon. He was in the hall, reaching for the door, looking furious.
