Page 28 of Hayden's Stalker

An attractive flush comes to Tatiana’s cheeks as she shakes Lita’s hand, and I ignore how sexy she looks. I’m a job for Tatiana Swanson, and I’m not a cheater.

“Yeah, I prefer it. Some clients call me Tatiana, and it makes me feel like I’m in trouble.”

I’m glad I took her up on the offer of using the nickname because I want her to be as comfortable as possible.

Lita laughs and says, “I’m the same when people call me Lolita. Hayden also said you’re going to have dinner with us. Is that normal?”

Tatiana’s eyes widen the tiniest bit, and she glances quickly at me before looking back at Lita. I can’t withhold a smile because Lita is so brutally honest, and it’s amusing to see Tatiana’s reaction to her.

“Yes and no. Again, some clients prefer me to eat separately, which is fine. I just eat when I can in those cases so I can stay on hand for protection.”

“I wasn’t about to shoo Tati off to a corner while we sit and eat your delicious gnocchi, Lita.” I say with a laugh from where I’m still standing by the sofa.

I know she said some of her former clients have been like that, but I could never do that to her.

“Fair enough.” Lita turns to grin at me. “Well, follow me to the dinner table, Tati. Can you get the food, Seb?”

“Of course, princess,” he says, and he walks over to Lita to kiss her before he heads to the kitchen.

“Is there a chance I could do a walkthrough of your apartment?” Tatiana asks.

“Um, I suppose so?” Lita says, sounding unsure.

Sebastian comes to a halt on his way to the kitchen, then turns to look at Tatiana and says in a cool tone, “I’d rather not have a stranger looking through my place, thanks.”

It is their home, but I frown because he doesn’t need to be a dick about it since Tatiana was just asking.

Lita looks between them, then frowns at Sebastian. “Non fare lo stronzo. Sta sola facendo il suo lavoro.” She turns back to Tatiana and says, “I can take you through while Seb gets the food.”

I chuckle as Sebastian scowls but walks away. I have some clue what she said to him because I’m fluent in Spanish, and what she just said involved him being told he’s an asshole.

As she starts to follow Lita, Tatiana turns to me. “You’ll need to come along because Jesse’s not here. Sorry.”

“I don’t mind.” I shrug my shoulders.

I move over to be near her, and immediately I feel better. She makes me feel safe, even in the safety of Sebastian’s apartment. I still don’t know where she’s keeping her gun, but I do know that if something happened right now, I wouldn’t be hurt.

“If you can just keep your voices down when we get near the bedrooms, I’d appreciate it. I don’t want to wake Mira,” Lita tells us.

I follow Tatiana and Lita through the apartment. I find my eyes drawn to Tatiana’s legs, and every time her dress moves, I look to see if I can see a weapon. Nothing is revealed, but as we make it back to the dinner table and I look up from where I’ve been staring at Tatiana’s legs, Sebastian catches my eye and raises an eyebrow at me. I give him a chagrined smile as I sit next to her.

My friends sit opposite us, and Lita asks, “Would you like anything to drink, Tati?”

“I’m fine with water, thanks.” Tatiana indicates to the bottle that Sebastian has set out on the table. “I don’t drink when I’m working.”

“That makes sense.” Lita smiles at her.

Sebastian looks at me and says, “It feels like it’s been years since we’ve been on tour.”

“It has been,” I point out with a laugh.

“Yeah, but itfeelsit, too.”

I shake my head and say, “Probably because ithas. A lot has changed since our last tour.”

I’m distracted for a second when Tatiana groans as she takes a bite of her gnocchi. The sound sends a shot of arousal directly to my crotch, and my imagination immediately takes me on a journey with Tatiana’s moans continuing in pleasure.

In reality, she says, “Oh, wow, this issogood.”
