“Okay.”

As she pulls my briefs on, she purposely touches my cock. The movement is obviously intentional, but the numbness makes it feel strangely distant from me. It’s not happening to me. Poor Other Hayden Vega.

When I’m dressed, she takes me out to the living room. At some point, Daniel joins us, and we eat cardboard for breakfast. She’s different when Daniel is around. She doesn’t want him to know she loves Other Hayden Vega as much as she does. I guess she wants to keep him around until Other Hayden loves her back.

I wonder what she’s planning to do with Daniel, and I’m not sure if she’s capable of killing anyone. Though she’s certainly crossed a lot of lines to get to Other Hayden, so it’s possible.

When Sarah leaves to run her errands, she promises to come back quickly, but I sit tied to the sofa and watch her go.

As soon as she’s out the door, Daniel spits at me, “Just because she spent the night with you doesn’t mean anything.”

“I know,” I say mechanically.

He doesn’t seem satisfied with this answer, and I watch the clock as he continues his rants about how Sarah loves him and only wants my body. Occasionally, I’ll respond in some manner because he looks at me and seems to expect a response.

“Were you the one who delivered the letters to the changing room and stuff?” I ask because it’s strange that she has him so completely fooled.

“Yes, and your useless bodyguard had no fucking clue it was me,” he says with a smirk.

Tati.

The thought of her cuts through the numbness, and I instinctively glance over at the clock to see that it’s nowhere near twelve yet, so I turn back to Daniel. “Didn’t you read any of them? She said over and over how much she apparently loves me.”

His face contorts as he storms over to kick me in the stomach, and the pain ricochets through me as he growls, “She’s just saying that. She told me so.” He kicks me harder the second time, and I grunt as the wind gets knocked out of me. “She just wants to fuck you, and she said she’d say anything to fulfill that fantasy, but she really loves me, and we’re going to get married.”

“If you say so,” I tell him and am rewarded with a punch to my ribs.

It’s obvious there’s no sense in trying to reason with him. I could tell him that I think Sarah will ditch him the first chance she gets, but I don’t think he’ll hear it. So instead, I sink back into the numbness and give minimal responses. Daniel kicks or hits Other Hayden whenever he gets angry with what he says or doesn’t say. I just watch the clock and wait for it to hit twelve.

“I’m back, my beautiful men,” Sarah says in a singsong voice when she arrives again.

“Hey, bunny,” Daniel says, his face alight, and it’s obvious he really does love her.

“Did you miss me?” she asks.

“Of course,” he says and walks over to kiss her passionately.

I sit in numb quietness until she turns to me. “What about you?”

“Of course,” I mimic his response.

Sarah smiles at me. “It’s so nice outside today. I wish we could go for a walk, baby, but I can’t trust you yet. Soon we’ll be able to do so many fun things.”

A walk like this could be an opportunity to escape, but it’ll be too obvious if I try to convince her that I’m trustworthy so soon. It gives me some hope that, in the future, I might be able to get away from here. I just have to be patient.

“Yes, we will,” I agree robotically.

She looks between Daniel and me, then asks, “Well, how about we have some lunch together?”

I nod, and she goes to make it while Daniel insults me some more. As he does, I watch the clock tick over to twelve.

Tati.

The pain of being apart from her comes rushing in, breaking through the numbness and causing my heart to splinter into pieces as I think about what she must be going through. I envisage her beautiful face, and I wish so much that she was here with me. I send my need out into the world and revel in the connection of knowing that right at this moment, she’s thinking about me again.

I grunt as Daniel punches me in the stomach, and I look up into his angry face as he says, “And don’t you forget it.”

I didn’t hear at all what he said, so I can’t forget what I didn’t hear, but I don’t bother asking what it was and just say, “Okay.”
