“So you do want one for your bus, then?” Heather asks with a laugh.
“Um, yes. I can’t believe what I’ve been missing out on. Tati said it’s a spa bath?” April looks over at me.
My stomach flops over at the casual question, but also the thought of Tati here in this bath with me, and I only manage to nod.
“Nice. Hell yeah, I want one.” She shakes her head, looking amazed.
As they all stare at the bath, I notice that I completely fucked up and left one of Tati’s makeup sponges sitting on the vanity. I can barely breathe as my heart pounds in my chest.
I work very hard to remain casual as I say, “So, that’s my tub. It’s as good as it seems. Should we head back to the others?”
Heather gives me an odd look, then nods. “Sure.”
Harrison and April walk out of the room first, and I step aside to let Heather leave before me.
I’m nervous that she’ll take one last look around the bathroom, but she doesn’t. She does hesitate in the bedroom, however, as Harrison and April continue back into the main bus.
She looks at me and asks with a curious look on her face, “Have you heard from Blake since you split up?”
“Yeah, a couple of times.” I shrug. “I blocked him a while ago, though.”
“Good on you,” she says. “He’s a fucking asshole.”
She drops on the bed and takes a sip of the rum and Coke I got her earlier. I lean against the counter that holds the TV and sip my whisky.
“So you’re single now, huh?”
I raise an eyebrow at her. “I believe you were right beside me when I broke up with my last boyfriend.”
I struggle not to laugh at the phrasing because if I have my way with Tati, then Blake really will be my last boyfriend since I intend to make her my wife.
“Right. Well, I’ve been thinking.”
“Uh oh, sounds like trouble,” I tease her.
She laughs and sips her drink before she says, “You and April are both single. She needs a good man, someone who will treat her right. You’d be perfect for her.”
“I don’t think so.” I shake my head.
“Don’t be silly. Of course you would. You’re a decent guy, unlike some of the men she’s dated. She’s awesome as well. You two would be perfect together,” she says enthusiastically.
“In case you haven’t noticed, I’m on tour,” I say, using my arm to indicate the room around us. “Meanwhile, April just relocated to LA to do her acting stuff.”
“But you don’t have a problem doing long distance,” Heather says with a shrug. “You’ve done it before with both Ally and Blake.”
“Yes, and look how well that turned out for me,” I tell her in a dry tone. “April has never shown any interest in me, and I’m not really into her, either.”
“You could take her out on a date while we’re here and see,” Heather suggests. “Give it a chance without just writing it off. You never know. You two could fall madly in love and getmarried. She could be the woman who was under your nose all along.”
I honestly have no idea how to convince her this is a bad idea without telling her that I already have a girlfriend and I have zero interest in dating anyone who isn’t Tati.
“I really don’t think so,” I tell her.
“Just think about it. You could take her on a date when we’re in Atlanta and just see if you hit it off.”
I can tell that she’s not going to take no for an answer, so I say, “Okay, I’ll think about it. Don’t say anything to April, though. I don’t want it to be weird between us.”
“Of course not.” Heather looks pleased with herself as she stands from my bed.
