Tell me you guys aren’t far away. Blake is here and I can’t be sure I won’t toss him into my pool fully clothed soon.

It doesn’t take long for her response to come through.

Don’t you dare do that!

I raise my eyebrows at her text, but laugh when another one comes through from her.

Until I’m there, I mean. I’ll kill you if I don’t get to witness it.

Things have been good with Heather lately. Now that I’m happy with Lita, I’ve been able to find a new kind of friendship with Heather. We joke with each other the way we always have, but there’s no secret longing for her from me and no unhappiness with Lita to get in the way of it.

I feel as though this is the kind of friendship we were always meant to have. I still joke about fucking her, but there isn’t a woman in the world that I want to fuck except for Lita. So it’s no longer just something that I’m not doing because I love Harrison and would never betray him.

It’s less than ten minutes later when Heather and Harrison walk into my living room, and she comes over to hug me straight away.

“Did I miss it?” she asks with a cheeky grin.

“He’s off with Lita and Hayden to look at what she’s done with the video game. Lucky him, he dodged a bullet.”

“Damn, what a shame,” Heather says with an obvious fake pout.

“I really thought I was going to come in here and find a soggy Blake,” Harrison laughs.

“Soggy Blake is a pretty accurate description of him,” Heather grins.

I burst into laughter. “Soggy Flake is even better. I think that’s going to be my new nickname for him.”

Heather laughs at my joke, then asks, “So how is everything going with Lita?”

“Great. Eric is more than happy with how she and the baby are doing.” I smile as I think about Mirabella. “It’s been such a relief for her to be back to a totally normal pregnancy again.”

Heather nods and gives me a hug. “I can imagine. You guys went through a lot. I was really worried about you.”

We all look up as Lita walks into the room with Hayden and Blake following her. My heart thuds painfully in my chest because I love her so much, and I’m so happy now that it actually hurts. It doesn’t feel real because, for so long, I was sure that I didn’t deserve happiness. Now that I’ve got it, I’m never ever going to take that for granted.

“How are you feeling, darling?” Heather asks, giving Lita a hug as she sits down in the gap between Heather and me on the sofa.

I immediately take Lita’s hand in mine and stroke her skin with my thumb as I smile at her.

“I’m fine, and everything’s going well. It’s been wonderfully peaceful out here.”

“Hey, guys,” Harrison says.

“Hi, Harrison.” Hayden smiles at him.

“How are you guys? Is Heather going to hit anyone today?” Blake smirks at her.

Heather rolls her eyes at him. “If I haven’t hit you by now, Blake, it’s probably not going to happen.”

“That depends, because there are clearlysometopics that get a reaction out of you,” he tells her.

The air in the room gets tense, and my entire body tenses as I look up at Blake, because he’s coming incredibly close to crossing a line here. “If you even think about bringing that topic up, you won’t have to worry about Heather hitting you.”

Blake laughs and drops onto the sofa. “How does your girlfriend feel about you being so defensive of another woman?”

“I’m closer to you than he is; I’d probably just slap you before he could,” Lita says matter-of-factly, and I almost laugh, except there’s no humor in this situation.

“You really don’t have a problem with the way that Sebastian acts like Heather’s knight in shining armor?” Blake asks.
