We reach the guys, and I nod at Evening Star as they call out, “Happy birthday, Seb!”
“Thanks, guys.” I grin at them as they’re being strapped into the roller coaster.
I look back over at Lita and Heather, unable to stop myself from smiling as I do.
“I’m glad that Heather decided not to ride,” I admit.
Harrison looks over at me and frowns. “How come?”
“Lita would’ve been stuck on her own with no one to talk to,” I point out.
“Oh shit. Good point.” He cringes at me.
“We should all skip a ride so that Lita doesn’t have to be alone,” Ariana suggests, and I smile at her.
“That’s a great idea, Mrs. Knight.” I nod because I don’t want Lita being on her own.
“I’m not just a pretty face,” Ariana laughs.
Evening Star is getting off the roller coaster, talking excitedly about how awesome it was, and we move forward to get on. Adrenaline is already starting to flow through my body as we get strapped into our seats. I’m next to Harrison, and I grin at him as the others get strapped in behind us.
“Are you ready for this?” I ask him.
“I was born ready, Sebastian Fox,” he laughs.
We’re at the front of the car, with the rest of our group behind us as it takes off. Lita and Heather wave at us as we take off, and I smile and wave back as we’re slowly taken up the massive, stories-high climb before we’re dropped down the other side of it. It feels as though we’re nose-diving to the ground, and Ariana screams behind me as the air whooshes against my face before we’re plunged into darkness as we go through a tunnel.
We come out the other side of it and are thrown sideways as the roller coaster loops around before we go up and down another huge slope. We’re tossed every which way before the roller coaster car comes back to the starting point, and my heart is pounding in my chest while I grin at my friends as we get off the ride.
“That was so fucking good. I love that ride so much,” I tell my friends.
“Agreed, I loved it,” Ariana laughs.
“I heard you screaming for your life,” I tease her.
“Doesn’t mean I didn’t love it,” she says and pokes her tongue out at me.
We reach Lita and Heather, and I tell them, “That wassogood. You missed out, Heather!”
“I’m sure I did. I’ll go on the next one.” She shrugs but smiles at me.
The next ride we go on is one where we’re lifted over two hundred feet in the air before we get dropped to the ground.
I’m going to say that I’ll skip this one under our agreement that everyone will sit out one ride, but Ariana says with a casual shrug of her shoulders, “I’ll sit this one out; I don’t have that much of a death wish.”
I smile at her and give her a wink to thank her for taking one for the team before we head off to the ride. I end up sitting between Blake and Gabriel, with Hayden on the end, and I grin at Gabriel.
“Nice of your wife to sit out with Lita for me.”
He looks over at the two women, who are leaning against the barrier that’s around the ride and smiles before he nods. “Yeah. She doesn’t like this ride at all.”
“Really? Why?” I raise my eyebrows in surprise.
“She read some story about a woman having her foot cut off on a ride like this.” He shrugs.
“Thanks for telling us that rightnow,” Blake grumbles as the ride starts slowly lifting us up into the air.
“You’re welcome,” Gabriel laughs as he leans around to smirk at Blake.
