“There are some complications with the pregnancy,” I reply with the answer that Lita and I prepared in the car while I give my best rock star smile to the reporters who seem eager for my answer. “And we appreciate you respecting our privacy in regard to it.”

“Of course, best of luck with the rest of the pregnancy, Lita.” The reporter smiles at her.

“Thank you,” Lita says with a nod of her head.

I answer some more questions, along with another couple about the pregnancy from people who want to press for more details, and then eventually, we’re able to leave the press behind and enter the park.

“You did great, princess,” I tell her.

Lita nods and looks around the park with a frown on her face before asking, “I thought that you hired the whole park out?”

“He did.” Heather rolls her eyes at me. “Everyone here is a guest.”

Lita’s eyes widen as she stares around her. All of the other groups of people have at least one celebrity in them that I’ve invited, though there are a couple with multiple celebrities like us.

“Sweet jesus.” Lita shakes her head. “You said that your party was going to be big, but I didn’t think you meantthisbig.”

I laugh. “I don’t know what to say, princess; I told you just this morning that I’m Sebastian Fox. I can’t help it that I’m awesome.”

We make our way through the park, being greeted by plenty of the celebrities I invited, who all wish me a happy birthday, then tell me they’ve left a gift for me on a gift table near the entrance of the park. I thank them, introduce Lita if they’re someone I really care about, and then move along, only to be stopped by the next person a few seconds later.

Eventually, we manage to get to a food stand, and everyone gets something to drink. We get hot dogs as well and eat them as we walk up to a roller coaster.

“Let’s do this!” Hayden grins.

“Just after eating?” Heather asks. “Pass. I’ll stay, keep Lita company, and my hot dog in my stomach.”

“Weak, angel,” Harrison teases her.

“Taunt me all you like, honey; I’m waiting more than five minutes before I get on any of the rides,” Heather grins at him.

Harrison kisses her, then joins the very short queue for the ride with Hayden and is greeted by everyone there.

“Want me to stay with you too?” I ask Lita.

I really want to go on the ride, but if she wants me to stay, of course I will.

“Don’t be stupid; go ride the ride and chuck your guts up so you can get a taste of what I went through for months,” Lita tells me with a smile.

I laugh at her joke and hope I don’t puke, before I leave with both Gabriel and Ariana to ride the ride.

“This is going to be so cool,” Gabriel says to me as we head toward the queue.

“Yup, I can’t fucking wait!” I grin at him.

When we’re almost there, I glance back at Lita and smile when I see her talking to Heather.

“How are things between you two?”

I look in Ariana’s bright green eyes, full of curiosity as she asks the question. For some reason, I mind her asking a lot less than I mind Heather asking. I know she won’t push me if I don’t want to talk about it, but I think about the sex we had this morning and smile.

“They’re not what I want them to be”—my smile falters as I remember the issues with Mirabella—“by any stretch of the imagination. But I’m still glad I met her and that she’s in my life.”

“Of course. I really like her. I look forward to getting to know her better now you guys are in Chicago.” Ariana smiles at me.

I put my arm around Ariana’s shoulders. “You can keep her safe from Heather.”

“You say that like I’m capable of doing it.” Ariana laughs.
