“Thanks. Are you in a partying mood?” I give the woman a charming smile.

She looks me up and down in a way that I have seen women do a thousand times before, and she nods. “I’m feeling decidedly festive right now, Sebastian Fox.”

“Want to dance when I’ve finished my drink?”

She agrees, and I take her to the dance floor. She grinds against me, but I don’t enjoy it. Even when a black-haired woman comes to join us and I dance with both women, I feel like shit. Neither of these women is Lita, the woman who doesn’t want me.

We dance until Gabriel and Ariana leave, and we line up with the other guests to say goodbye to them when they do. Ariana doesn’t say anything to me, just frowns as she hugs me.

Gabriel leans in and says, “This is a bad idea, Seb. Don’t do it.”

I laugh off his comment. “Hey, just because you’re an old married man now, doesn’t mean we all are.I’mstill free to do whoever I want whenever I want. Have a great honeymoon, though.”

Heather leaves shortly after they do, but not without glaring at me where I’m back dancing with the two women again. We end up leaving the wedding and going to the hotel bar for more drinks.

We’re on our second drink, the three of us sitting on a sofa with me in the middle of the two women, when the blonde smiles at me. “Should we take this upstairs?”

I should say yes. I should fuck the shit out of both of these women. The thought of having a subpar sexual experience with them when I already had amazing sex with Lita today is depressing, though.

“It’s definitely been a lot of fun, but I think I might just head upstairs soon. It’s been a long day, and I’m tired.”

The women look disappointed, but we have another drink before I leave and head to my suite solo. It’s quiet and dark when I enter, and I look at my watch to see that Lita’s flight will be leaving soon. She’s flying away from me. Maybe not being in the same city as her will make all of this less painful.

Somehow, I doubt it.

Penalty Following a Standard Foul

The offending player loses their next visit to the table, giving their opponent two visits to the table.

This may be uncomfortable, and one should reflect on the turn they’ve just taken so they might perform better in the future. The pool room can be frosty if you have egregiously committed one of these errors.

LEVEL 18.2 – Glutton for Punishment

It’s beentwo days since the wedding and I’ve spent them regretting so many things. I haven’t heard from Lita, and I haven’t contacted her either. I don’t know what to say, and it’s strange because I’ve gotten used to being in almost constant contact with her.

Her scan isn’t for another two weeks, but I miss her. A part of me wants to fly to Seattle and see her anyway, but I can’t forget her words. I just don’t think that I can handle her rejecting me again. I need to figure out a way to live my life without her as anything other than a co-parent.

The pain at that thought is intense, and my mind is a mess. I haven’t spoken to anyone since the wedding. Gabriel and Ariana are on their honeymoon, but Heather did send me an angry text that I didn’t reply to, and I’ve missed a couple of calls from Harrison and Hayden.

I pace my apartment, thinking about everything for ages, before I snatch up my car keys and head downstairs. I get in my Ferrari and start driving toward Hayden’s place. I need a distraction from everything, and he can go to a club with me tonight.

It’s been a while since I’ve actually driven myself somewhere, and I enjoy being behind the wheel of my car again. Daryl normally drives me everywhere, but I haven’t gone anywhere for the last two days because I didn’t want to, so I haven’t bothered calling him.

I type the code in to get into the underground garage of Hayden’s building and park my car in one of his assigned spaces before I head to the elevator. There’s another code to get upstairs, and I find the place empty.

I sigh because I hadn’t thought to check if he was home, and I call him. “Hey, bro. I’m at your place. Where are you?”

“You’re in my apartment?” He sounds surprised.

“Yeah. I thought we could hang out and maybe go to a club tonight.”

“Uh, okay.” He’s silent for a few seconds before he says, “If you want to set up a pool game for us, I’ll be there in a few minutes, and you can whoop my ass if you want. The pool table is in my games room.”

“Oh, awesome. I wanted to see your new table,” I say with a genuine grin.

Hayden got himself a pool table a couple of weeks ago as an early birthday present for himself.
