He looks at me with a frown on his face for a few seconds, then sighs. “You know you can always talk to me, right? I know you don’t want to talk tonight, but I’m always there for you. I also don’t think it’s a good idea for you to take Lita up on her offer.”
“I can do what I want. She told me to go fuck someone else,” I shrug.
“Yes, but—”
“Can you drop it? You’re killing my mood. Are we leaving soon? I’m ready to go somewhere with some women. I’m going to find Gabriel and find out when we’re going to a club.”
Hayden is frowning at me as I walk away. The world is still unsteady, but I make it to where Gabriel is talking to a group of people that includes Jake York, Heather’s brother.
I wait until there’s a break in the conversation and ask, “Gabriel, when are we leaving? I want to fuck someone, and you rudely didn’t invite any ladies to come to this.”
Gabriel laughs and looks at his watch. “The limo will be here in about fifteen minutes.”
“You can’t just celebrate Gabriel’s big day without picking someone up, Sebastian?” Jake asks in a cool voice.
I know he doesn’t like me. He never has. He also seriously dislikes my friendship with Heather and the jokes we make, so I grin at him.
“Unfortunately, your sister isn’t here or I wouldn’t have to find someone.”
“Don’t talk about her like that. It’s disgusting. She’s married to your friend,” he snarls.
“Yeah, she is, but haven’t you read the news? Heather and I do the nastyallthe time behind his back,” I say casually.
Jake glares at me and opens his mouth to say something, but Gabriel chuckles and says, “I don’t think Jake appreciates your joke, Sebastian.”
“What joke?” I ask him and give him a wicked grin.
He puts his arm around my shoulders and says, “I’ll, uh, talk to you guys later.” He leads me away from them and laughs. “I thought Jake was going to punch you if you kept going.”
“Really?”
I glance back at him, and he’s glaring at me. I didn’t think he wasthatangry, but I have drunk a lot tonight, so maybe I missed how annoyed he was.
“I’m too pretty to be punched,” I point out to Gabriel.
“Exactly. Let’s have another drink before the limo gets here. Tonight has beensogood. Where are Harrison and Hayden?”
I shrug my shoulders because I’m not sure where they are now. We get a final cocktail, and Gabriel speaks to the owner of the club to thank him for the excellent night. Hayden and Harrison appear along with a group of the guests who are coming on to the club with us.
Three massive limousines take us to a club in downtown Chicago, and when we get there, paparazzi take pictures of us on the way in. We’ve been to this club a few times in the past, and it’s pretty good, but I have one goal.
I make my way to Declan and ask him, “Who do you think I should fuck tonight, Dec?”
“Hmmm.” He looks around the club and points to a group of women about twenty feet away from us. “They’re hot.”
I look to where he’s indicating and see three women—two brunettes and a redhead. They’re all hot, so I nod at him.
“Seems good. Are you coming with me?”
“Sure, why not.”
We make our way over to the women and introduce ourselves. It isn’t long before I’m on the dancefloor with one of the brunette women. It’s hot, and the music is loud, plus the world is slightly askew. Louder than the music are Lita’s words echoing in my head.
“I’m dropping the ground rule for tonight.”
The brunette grinds against me and I wrap my arms around her, wishing she was Lita.
“I can’t love you the way you want me to.”
