I’m desperate to take her upstairs and have my way with her, so I tell her seriously, “I want to fuck you, Heather York.”

“I can tell. We should probably be social first, though,” she laughs. I groan my disappointment, and she laughs harder. “Payback’s a bitch, and so am I! Go sit down, I’ll get myself liquored up, and then you can have your wicked way with me, I promise.”

I’ve got an obvious bulge in my pants, but I don’t even care as I head back to take my seat at the table again. I watch Heather as she heads over to make herself a drink. She’s wearing a skirt, and as she reaches over to grab a bottle of Coke out of the fridge, it rides up an inch. I want to see more, and I’m disappointed when she stands up and her skirt slides back down her legs.

She pours a decent amount of rum into a glass, adds some Coke, then walks back toward me as Sebastian asks, “Do you want us to deal you in?”

“Nah, I’ll just watch.” She smiles at him.

“You can be my good luck charm, angel.” I wink at her.

Heather sets her drink in the cup holder next to mine but doesn’t take a seat, choosing instead to sit on my lap, and I wrap my arms around her waist at once. A sense of complete peace and rightness comes over me. I rest my chin on her shoulder to watch the rest of the hand, since I’ve already folded.

I turn my head and kiss Heather’s soft cheek before going back to watching the game. She takes a sip of her drink, then relaxes against me as Ally wins the hand with a pair of Aces. Heather plays with my poker chips as Sebastian deals the next hand, and I reach forward to grab my cards. I lift them up and see that he’s dealt me the two and seven of clubs. I don’t even bother trying to hide my annoyance as I drop my card down again, because I’m going to fold for sure.

“But they’re suited…” Heather whispers into my ear before dropping her head to kiss my neck softly, and I laugh as my cock stiffens beneath her.

“You’re a cruel wench,” I tell her as I throw my cards in before cupping her chin with my hand and pulling her face toward mine for another kiss.

Heather turns back to face the table, and her arousal must be obvious because Sebastian announces with a wicked grin, “There’s a ten-thousand-dollar fine if you leave the table first.”

“That can’t be a thing,” she says indignantly.

“Oh, it really is.” Hayden laughs.

“Well, what is ‘leaving the table,’ anyway? Harrison came over to see me, does that count?”

“It doesn’t,” I tell her, winking at her when she turns to look at me, “but I’d have done it even if it did. It’s only if you leave the game.”

“Why have I never heard of this rule before?” she complains.

“We made it up last week,” Sebastian gives her finger guns and a wink as well, “some asshole wanted to leave the game.”

“It was four in the morning, and I was tired!” Gabriel protests.

“Hang on, so I’m in Chicago, all on my own and in desperate need of a fiancé to fuck, all because you guys are up here playing poker all night instead of making an album like you’re meant to be doing?” She pokes her tongue out before taking another big sip of her drink.

I consider paying the fine at the sight of her tongue, because I want her mouth around my cock, and I’m getting harder by the second. But Ally shuffles the cards and deals out the next hand and deals me in, so I decide to tease Heather. I stroke her outer thigh with one hand as I look at my cards; this time, I have a pair of red queens, and I call the bet.

“Yup, that’s pretty much right. Sucks to be you, Heather!” Hayden laughs.

“Apparently so. How is the album coming along?”

Gabriel and Sebastian both fold their cards this time, while Ally and Hayden call as well. She puts three cards on the table, the five of diamonds, king of clubs, and two of hearts.

“It’s awesome,” Gabriel says, “we’ll play it for you tomorrow.”

“Is it finished then?” She turns and looks at me, her face alight. “You’re coming home?”

As the next round of betting finishes, Ally puts another card on the table, and it’s the queen of spades. Hayden doesn’t bet initially, so I make a decent bet, and Ally folds, but I’m pleased when Hayden calls me.

“Sorry, angel, not quite. We think it’ll be another week here. We’ve got the cancer charity event next Saturday while you’re in New York, and then we’ll both be back in Chicago on Sunday. If the album isn’t done by then, the guys will just have to finish it without any bass,” I tell her as if I’m serious.

Ally sets the river card on the table and it’s the five of hearts. Hayden bets big this time, and I call him without a second thought. Hayden shows his hand, and he has a king in his pocket. He groans loudly when I flip my cards over, revealing my full house, and beating Hayden’s two pair of kings and fives.

“Well, shit. We could’ve done the whole album without bass,” Sebastian says dryly, “as long as you’ve got lead guitar, who gives a crap about bass?”

“Yes, darling, we’re all aware that you’rethemost important person in the entire world, and the band couldn’t possibly exist without you.” Heather blows him a kiss.
