“If you have a problem with Gabriel, discuss it with him, Sebastian.”
Sebastian holds up his hands in defense and says, “Hey, I have no problem. I was just asking.”
“Seb,” Hayden says in a warning tone.
“Scout’s honor!” Sebastian says, and I roll my eyes at him.
We talk for another half an hour or so before I head back to my room. I slip into bed with Heather and wrap my arms around her.
“Are you awake?” I whisper into the darkness.
“Yes,” she whispers back.
“Why?”
“I can’t sleep.” She shrugs her shoulders.
“I’m here now. You can sleep, angel.”
I kiss her softly and hear her sigh in contentment. She snuggles into me, and it’s not long before her breathing evens out. I fall asleep soon after, happy and at peace now that we’re together again.

Lights, Camera, This Is Going to Be Amazing!
I wake on the morning of Heather’s fashion show when the phone in our hotel room starts ringing loudly. She picks it up and listens for a second before hanging up and lying back down next to me.
I snuggle into her and wrap my arms around her, kissing her lips gently. Even though we’re not at home, everything is better just being with her. It makes me smile.
“Good morning, angel. I missed you. So much. It was so good to sleep in a bed with you last night. Did you sleep okay?”
“I barely slept a wink,” she says and cringes.
I knew she was stressed, but I’m as concerned as ever that she might break from it. She only needs to get through the show, though.
I squeeze her tightly and tell her, “You only have to be strong enough to get through today. I promise that you can be completely and utterly non-functional as soon as we get back here tonight. Just hold it together until then.”
“There’s so much to do! What if it all goes terribly?” she moans.
“It won’t, but if it does, I’ll be there. So will Ally, Seb, and Hayden. We will work it out,” I assure her.
Heather’s entire body relaxes, and she lies with me for a few more minutes before she kisses me again, squeezes me tightly, and heads to the bathroom. I lie in the warm bed for a few more minutes myself before I pick up the hotel phone and use it to order us a room service breakfast.
She appears in the living room of the suite wearing tight black pants, red ankle boots, and a red, silk button-up shirt that hugs her curves nicely. I smile at the sight of her, because she’s so beautiful, but she also looks nervous.
“I ordered us some breakfast from room service; it should be here in a minute.”
“Oh, thanks. I don’t know if I can eat anything. I feel like I might puke,” she says while cringing.
I pat the sofa next to me, and she makes her way over to sit down. I put my arm around her and hold her tightly to me, feeling the tension ease from her body as I do.
“You won’t puke, and today is going to be perfect, just like you.”
I kiss her softly, and she sighs as I pull my lips from hers. “I wish I was as sure as you are.”
“I’ve never doubted you once in my life, and today isn’t the day I’m going to start.”
I squeeze her tightly as the doorbell for the room goes off to let us know that our food has arrived. We sit at the table to eat it together, and I consider how to broach the topic of Gabriel’s phone call last night.
