He swooped down and caught my mouth in a powerful kiss once again. His lips were soft and rigid while his tongue almost demanding as it swept in and tangled with mine.
“Me all over you,” he growled. “I like marking you like that.”
My stomach fluttered at his words and the near feral look in his eyes. I didn’t know what I was supposed to say to that. I probably shouldn’t like that he said it.
“Uhm, Axel?”
“Yeah, candy girl?” he asked, his lips hovering just above mine.
“How long, again?”
His laughter filled the room and as he slipped from my body, I managed to hold back my complaint—barely. He didn’t realize it yet, but he was going to be very busy—forever.

One week later
Axel
Someone was pounding on my door, and I was going to kill them. Each slam of a fist against the wood sliced into my head as I dragged myself out of bed.
“Who is it?” Mandy asked.
“Go back to sleep, baby. I’ll take care of it,” I murmured in her hair as I gave her a quick kiss. She needed the rest. Our visit to the doctor the day before had indeed confirmed the pregnancy, and since then I’d been worried about her.
She ignored me and slid from the other side of the bed, reaching for the t-shirt I’d thrown on the floor just a few hours ago when I’d stripped her naked. She’d said pregnancy hormones made her horny so what was my excuse? Since telling me about the baby, I'd spent every waking moment possible getting inside her.
“What are you doing?”
“I’m getting dressed. What does it look like?”
I frowned, shaking my head.“You need your rest.”
“So do you. So let's go see who’s at the door and deal with it so we can come back to bed.” I shook my head again, realizing changing her mind was going to take too long and whoever was at the door wasn’t letting up.
I don't know what I had to do to get some damned privacy back around here.
I left her in the bedroom, stomped to the front door, and yanked it open. “Do I really have to keep reminding you all to use a fucking phone and text before…”
My voice trailed off, the words dying out when I saw it was JD at the door with a half empty bottle of whiskey dangling from his fingertips.
"Heeeyyy," he slurred, that one word sounding like it came out through gravel in a blender.
“Shit.”
Mandy looked over my shoulder.“I’ll start some coffee.”
I nodded at her briefly before turning back towards my very drunk president. “Hey, JD. What’s going on?” I stepped back so he could enter.
“Been at the hospital all day visiting Bear and Sasha.” The anguish in his words was so thick it sounded like they’d been ripped from his throat.
“I thought they were both making progress.” Seeing JD like this worried me. Not that I hadn’t seen him rip-roaring drunk before, but this was different. He looked devastated.
"Bear's doing pretty good, but Sasha..." His words trailed off as he looked away and across the compound into the dark copse of trees nearby.
"Come in inside," Mandy said quietly, slipping under my arm to take JD's hand. He looked torn, but he didn't rip his hand from hers and I took that as decent sign.
I stepped back while she led him in. I didn't think I'd ever seen him quite like this. Not even after Malia's death. And Houston's dad, accidentally shooting the love of their lives, had been a pretty horrific time. Especially for the club.
