"What are we going to do about this?" If he saidnothing, I was going to go berserk and punch something. But once again my president did not let me down.

"We're going hunting. Right now."

Chapter Thirty

Amanda

There wasnothing like an imminent death threat to spur action. Within the hour almost the entire club along with Houston and Izzy were loaded into various vehicles and motorcycles and headed to Seattle.

They all had blood on their mind and the intent to kill. I wasn't sure who had it worse. JD or Axel. They were both blindly moving on a mission with woefully small intel to go on.

Tel and I had put our heads together in the backseat of Axel's truck, and along with information given to us from Izzy we were able to triangulate some possibilities. Her father owned several properties in the greater Seattle area, but only a couple were likely to be the kind of places that her brother might hide.

In the meantime, the governor had gone on his own rampage and he had the SBI raiding every single facility ever associated with Frank Mazzeo. They'd looked the other way for too long, but that didn't mean they didn't know where to look. They absolutely did. So far they'd hit a dozen and whatever was left of the Mazzeo operation was being rounded up and dragged into holding.

"They just hit another one," Tel announced, turning his computer around so the others could see the action the security cameras were capturing in real time.

"Wow. How many does that make now?" Izzy asked.

"Thirteen," I answered.

"I imagine whatever group of criminals make up the new corporation, they have got to be doing some mad scrambling about now."

"That's assuming they didn't know in advance what the Mazzeo kid was up to," Tel said.

"You think they were?" Axel asked.

"Unlikely," I answered. "Men in their position don't generally like to antagonize law enforcement unless they have to. They prefer to keep their business private and out of the limelight. Retaliation against other criminals is one thing, but retaliation against the federal government? That's a reach." I studied the man currently on camera for a moment and smiled, recognizing one of the agents I'd worked closely with before. "They had to know coming directly after the MC casino would cause problems with more than the MC. Provided they knew the clientele you had coming in an out of there of course." Axel stared at me in the rear-view mirror but didn't say anything in response. He didn't have to. That was answer enough. "So, if they'd known, they probably would have taken care of the issue in-house."

Izzy swiveled in her seat and met my gaze. "What does that mean?"

"I think you know."

"Fuck." Axel cursed. "You think they will kill Mazzeo themselves?"

I shrugged. "They aren't going to take all this raiding lying down. They are currently losing loads of money by the minute every time one more business goes down. Even if it's just a setback, they could potentially lose millions. Do you know anyone who just sits back and willingly loses millions?"

"You need to drive faster," Tel said to Axel. "They just hit another. That makes fourteen."

He did as directed, but now that they were in Seattle, traffic was thick and there was only so fast he could go. But they weren't but a few miles from the first waterfront penthouse they wanted to check. Soon they would be within range to hack the building cameras and hoped to gain an extra advantage that way.

"Wait. Hold on," Izzy screeched, pointing in front of her. "JD is pulling over."

I looked through the windshield to indeed see that the line of motorcycles in front of them were all moving onto the shoulder of the road. "What's going on?"

"No idea, but I guess we're about to find out." Axel swerved across three lanes of traffic and fell back into line behind the rest of the club. "I don't like this. We're sitting ducks out here."

"Agreed," I added, unease working up and down my spine.

"Everyone stay here. I'll see what's going on. Izzy you get behind the wheel just in case. If I signal, I want you to leave. Don't freak out. Don't ask questions. Just drive and get somewhere safe, got it?"

She nodded. "Okay," she said, sliding over to the driver's seat.

Axel shot me one more glance and then he shut the door and walked in the direction of the rest of his club. I didn't like this one bit. If they were trying to pull something and leave us behind...

We all watched out the window as Axel approached JD. It started off innocent enough, but thirty seconds into whatever they were talking about, Axel was gesturing wildly in obvious anger.

"Oh boy, that doesn't look good," Izzy whispered even though we could all hear her in the silent truck.
