“I am.” Shaya smiled, her heart lifting.
“Then, that’s all that matters.”
“Did you speak to Elion?” Shaya asked.
Kyus’ face softened as she smiled. “Yes.”
“Tell me what happened. Did he explain things to you?”
“In a way….” Kyus sighed. “He told me to unblock myself.”
Shaya’s eyes widened. “Unblock your Omega signals?”
“Yes. He said that there is nothing that he could say to me until that was done.”
Shaya grinned, knowing what was coming next. “And you did?”
“Only because you told me to speak to him,” Kyus said, scowling.
“And then?”
“And….” Kyus struggled to find the words, a strange expression on her face. “It was just incredible,” she said shrugging. “It was so much more intense being with him without my blocks, and I discovered more about myself than I ever dreamed I could. One of the things I discovered is that he is my Alpha.”
Shaya gasped in excitement. Her eyes traveled to Kyus’ neck and sure enough, there was a claiming bite, only a few days old. “Congratulations,” she squealed.
Behind her Kardos grunted, jolting her with his arm.
The sisters quietened their giggles, but Shaya leaned over to hug her. “I’m so pleased for you! I knew it!”
“Yes, you did,” Kyus said rolling her eyes mockingly. “And you were right. Through the bond, I can feel how he feels about me, and there is nothing more powerful than his love for me I feel in the bond.”
“You can feel his love through the bond?” Shaya asked.
“Yes, so can you, I’m sure. It just takes a bit of focus,” Kyus mused. “I’m sure that is why he wanted me to unblock myself, so that I would realize that I needed to claim him. These royal brothers are so tricky.”
Shaya laughed quietly. “And you know all the tricks,” she said prodding Kyus. “He is your match in every way.”
Kyus’s eyes shone. “He is.” She sighed. “I better go. Your potion woman wouldn’t let Elion in the room, so he is waiting outside. I told him I’d be a few moments.”
Shaya nodded. “Kardos would definitely not like any unfamiliar man in the room.” Her smile faded as she thought of one more thing. “What did the woman in white say?”
Kardos pursed her lips in annoyance. “She wasn’t very apologetic about sending you to the wrong place,” she huffed. “She said that two people going through the portal disrupted the magic and that’s why you ended up where you did.”
Shaya frowned. “But who were those men? Did she really think I’d be safe there with those men?”
“She said they would never have found you if you’d gone to where she’d been trying to send you,” Kyus replied. “But now your presence there may cause problems here eventually.”
Shaya breathed shallowly as she stared at Kyus. “What do you mean?”
“They have no Omegas,” Kyus said dryly. “And according to the woman in white, they don’t know what an Omega even is. But your scent may lead to them being inventive enough to find out.”
“So they could come here?” Shaya said alarmed.
“No, apparently not. They are not magically advanced. And she didn’t seem concerned about it, so neither should we be.”
Shaya took a breath as she thought about the men storming toward her and Kardos, and the contorted face of the man that led the charge. If they ever found themselves in the known Lands, she would have put everyone in danger…
Kyus’ hand brushed her arm. “Shaya, there is no need to worry about it,” Kyus said. “The woman in white is taking precautions to ensure they can never find the known Lands.”
