"Fuck,” Zack said before his cock throbbed inside of me. I collapsed against the bed, and Zack fell next to me. Neither of us said a word as we lay there for a second. Then the reality of the people downstairs came back to my mind.
"Shit."
"No." Zack cupped my cheek. "You have no reason to be ashamed. I can deal with them. Take a bath or go back to sleep."
"I can't hide from them forever."
"No. My guess is Kat or Sophie would just come in the room and not care if you were naked. Come down when you want."
He placed a gentle kiss on my lips before he disappeared into the bathroom. When he returned, his hair was damp, and he'd put on jeans with a t-shirt. I tried not to drool at the sight of him.
Part of me didn't want to face everyone downstairs, because they knew we just had sex. Despite the embarrassment, I also wanted an update on the information Zane had.
I quickly showered and grabbed a dress from the bag of clothes Zack had ordered someone to bring from my apartment. Then, I threw my wet hair up in a ponytail and headed for the stairs. When I reached the landing, I heard chatter from the formal dining room.
I made my way down the stairs. A group of kids were playing in the living room and I continued past them. I turned the corner to find a room full of extremely hot men and equally beautiful women. My hand went to my cheek subconsciously, and I wished I'd put on makeup. Zack caught my movement and narrowed his eyes as if he had read my thoughts. He mouthed something. Though I didn't catch it, because Kat threw her arms around me and hugged me.
"How are you?" she asked as she stepped back.
A man dressed in black cargo pants and a black shirt, with vivid blue eyes spoke before I could answer. "I think she looks damn good."
"Dude. You want to die, don't you? Did you not learn your lesson when you hit on Sophie last night?"
"Hey, it never hurts to try." He reached out his hand. I went to shake it, but an arm wrapped around me and pulled me against a very hard chest.
"Back the fuck off, Sebastian," Zack growled. I don't know how he got across the room so fast. His over-the-top actions should piss me off, but they had the opposite effect on me. I leaned into his chest and patted his arm.
The man threw his hands up in the air. "I hate all of you."
"The feeling is mutual," Kat replied. "Let's all sit down and discuss what we've figured out while you two had sex."
Sophie huffed. "At least they were behind closed doors and not on the balcony next to our room."
My only friends were the people I’d met while protesting. None of them ever spoke about sex so openly.
Zack nudged my back. "Let's sit down, and Antonio can tell us what is happening."
When I pulled the chair out next to Sebastian, Zack told Sebastian to move. Zack wanted to take the seat next to me even though the one on the other side of mine was open. Once everyone had taken chairs, Antonio flicked the television on.
"With Sebastian's help, we tracked Ash's location down."
I held up my hand, wondering how these types of meetings worked.
"What's your question, Hannah?" Antonio asked.
"Who is Ash?"
A grainy photo of a man in combat gear appeared on the screen. "Ash is the man who put the bomb in the SUV. From what we found, he is not linked to your father, so the attempt on your life in Vegas was because this man wants Zack dead. He boarded a commercial flight two nights ago under the name Joe Smith. When he arrived in D.C., he was able to move undetected, and we have Neil's software running facial scans for him. As for your father, he's at the compound."
"Why does this Ash want to kill Zack?" I asked.
"I locked him away in the Black Hole for some crimes I can't discuss." Zack gestured to the far side of the room, where Sebastian leaned against the wall. "And that fucker helped him escape."
Kat reached over to Sophie's laptop and hit a key, and six more photos appeared. "The only reason Sebastian isn't gator food is he gave us all of Ash's connections. But to make sure he's not double-crossing us, he can't leave. Sophie’s worked to burn all of Ash's contacts, so he'll make a mistake and when he does, we can take him down."
"Now for the priest. The writing on the wall, we think it was a message from your father. The problem is we don't have satellite imaging over Haven Ridge," Antonio pointed out.
"I thought satellites saw everything?" I asked, needing help understanding all the surveillance things.
