“You feel so fucking good,” I growled into her ear, increasing her speed.
I wrapped my arm around Hannah’s back and pulled her against my chest while I rolled us, so I was on top. I moved slowly and methodically. More making love than striving for that desperate need, even though we were both desperate and needy.
I reached between us and pressed my thumb to her clit. She bucked against me and her hands dug into the sheets. “Come for me, Hannah.”
“It feels so good, Zack,” Hannah whispered as her sex tightened around me. Finally, I couldn’t hold back any longer and I released a moment later. I held her until my heart beat slowed down and we were both breathing normal.
Hannah whined as I pulled out and headed for the bathroom. I disposed of the condom in the trash, jogged back to the bed, and climbed back next to her.
The stress from the day disappeared for a moment, but I knew we had to stop Hannah’s dad.
“Good night, Hannah.”
She snuggled against my chest. “Nite.”
I was almost asleep when my phone vibrated on the table next to the bed. Zane’s name flashed across the screen. But I wasn’t ready to deal with the outside world and wanted a few more moments with Hannah.
Chapter11
Hannah
Iopened my eyes and glanced at the clock next to the bed. Somehow, I'd slept well past nine. When Zack woke up for his morning run for the past week, he would kiss me on the forehead and tell me he would be back soon. Today, I figured he didn't wake me because we didn't get much sleep. However, when I rolled over, he hadn't left. He was in bed typing on his phone. His bare chest was exposed, and I suddenly had the urge to lick his abs.
Memories from the night before flooded back to me, and I felt a warm blush spread across my cheeks.
He lowered his phone and smiled. I felt a sense of comfort and safety when I was near him.
"Good morning," he said, his voice filled with tenderness. "Your lip is puffy from where Douglas hit you yesterday. Does it hurt?"
"No," I replied. I didn't want to think about Douglas.
Zack reached over, cradled my cheek, and brushed his thumb over my scar. This wasn't the first time he had ran his fingers over the jagged scar. But it was the first time I didn't flinch or try to move my face. Annabella's words about her husband's mark on his face had changed something inside of me.
Neither of us moved or spoke. In that moment, everything felt right in the world. I was exactly where I wanted to be—with the person I loved. Fuck. I had fallen in love with Zack.
Zack's brows drew together. "What just crossed your pretty little mind? Are you regretting what happened between us last night?"
I glared up at him for even asking. "No. I will always cherish our time together even after you leave me."
"Let's get one thing straight." Zack pulled me up against his body. My breasts pressed against his chest. "I never plan to leave you. If it were up to me, I would say let's throw away the contract and make this official, but then I think you would run."
Even hearing the words come out of his mouth, I still had a hard time believing he wanted to marry me. Of course, what he just said was insane. We only knew each other for a week, and I'd fallen in love, but I didn't think a man like Zack could fall for me.
"I still don't understand why you want to be with me." I pressed my finger to his lips before he could explain. "For now, I want to live in each moment with you. But I do have a question for you."
Zack nipped the tip of my finger. "Ask away. There isn't anything I won't answer."
"Anything?"
"What is your question, Hannah?"
"Now I have two questions. The first is do aliens exist. Oh, and did you copy that little book thing the former presidents hand down to each other?"
He raised his eyebrow. "So, I said you could ask me anything, and those are your two questions?"
"I have more. You didn't say I had a limit. But I want to know if aliens exist and if you can't say the answer out loud, blink twice."
For the past fifteen years, if I wasn't out exploring nature, I had watched documentaries on alien hunting.
