Wes shrugged, “back then. I wasn’t even sure if I knew my own name at times.”

The men stepped to the side, and Roxy pulled me to the bar. I sat on the chair.

“Are you excited!” Roxy was practically bouncing with excitement in her seat.

“Excited?”

“For tonight. This is so exciting. I heard he had it shipped in from his sister.”

“I have no clue what you are talking about.”

Roxy’s cheeks turned bright pink. “Never mind.”

My eyes narrowed at my friend. “Come on, tell me.”

She shook her head. “Not going to happen.” She glanced over her shoulder to where Samantha and Kaeden walked into the bar area of the club. It seemed everyone had come early. The club hadn’t even opened yet.

“Are the guys having a meeting?”

The twinkle in her eye told me it was something else. “No. Let’s go talk with Samantha.”

My friend's fingers were twined with Kaden's. Earlier that day, I had walked in on them in an argument in the middle of the hall about how one of his doctors treated one of her nurses. She came to my office later bitching about him.

Samantha wrapped me in a hug. “Hey, girl.”

“You worked everything out?”

“Nope.” She lowered her voice. “But we don’t let the arguments at work cross over to our personal lives. We are still finding a balance. It’s not like I can bitch about him at night. I want this to work, but I think I’m kidding myself.”

I was worried about the same thing. Samantha had a stressful job and would need someone at home at night to vent to. The only problem was Kaeden worked long hours, and she couldn’t bitch to him like other people. “I don’t want you to get hurt.”

Samantha’s lip quivered as she smiled, “tonight’s not about me.”

Before I could ask what she was talking about. Wes wrapped his arm around my waist and pulled me back against his chest. His lips brushed against my skin, leaving a trail of goosebumps. “Can I steal Rachelle for a second?” He asked.

They both answered at the same time, “yes.”

“What’s going on?”

Wes didn’t answer me as he moved to the side and grabbed my hand. “Follow me.”

The crowd of our friends followed behind as Wes led me past the dungeon and to the back room. The white tapestry hung over the walls with a faint pink light behind them. In the back corner of the room, Brock and Jessica stood with Sage in Brock’s arms. My little boy fussed for a second, but Brock bounced him, and he stopped. “What’s going on?” I asked a second time.

Wes reached up and brushed his thumb along the side of my face. His gentle touch made me want to melt into a puddle at his feet. “When I came to America, my goal was to help take down the Zarus Church. Not once did I think I would find the woman who would make me want to be a better person, not just for you but your son also.”

Wes was so great with Sage. My little boy would squeal with joy when Wes held him.

I came home from work early one day to find Wes on the coach with Sage on his chest. He informed me he went to check on Sage at daycare, and he didn’t seem to feel one hundred percent, so he brought him home. After the incident with his daycare, we moved him to the one connected to Blackwood Security . The same one Brock used for his kids.

Wes cleared his throat to bring me back to him. “Rachelle, would you do the honor of being my wife?” Wes dropped to one knee and pulled out a pink box. When he popped it open, my eyes watered as I looked down at the light pink diamond ring.

“Yes.” I held out my hand, as Wes slid the ring on my finger.

I wrapped my arms around Wes’s neck, and he pulled me close. His lips pressed against my ear. “I have a pretty matching collar for later in the dungeon.”

We talked about the lifestyle, and he had asked me if I would wear his collar one day. I agreed but said I wanted something elegant that I could wear every day, and people at the hospital would never know.

“Have I told you how much I love you?”
