I jogged up next to her. “Good evening Agent Scarlet.”
She grunted and narrowed her eyes, “did you find him?”
“No, Brock is working on it.”
Her eyes flicked to the row of cages and back to me. Her voice lowered to almost a whisper. “Maybe Blackwood should run their own mission to find him. Not sure if the FBI would ever locate him.”
Mia’s voice came over the comm. “Did an FBI agent just tell us to assassinate someone? Brock, I might have to switch to the Rose Club because that woman is my fucking hero.”
“We are not assassinating anyone, but if a bullet happens to hit the man in the heart. I’m sure we can dump the body in Antonio’s backyard.”
The women from the cages were lined up behind an FBI van. A younger woman in the back had the same blonde hair I recognized from the little girl waiting for her mom back in Shialia. I tapped her on the shoulder, and she jumped. “Greta?”
She nodded, and I couldn’t stop myself from wrapping her in a hug. I pulled out my phone and showed her a picture of her little girl. The woman sobbed in my arms. I sent Patty a text letting her know I found the woman we were looking for. My sister would take care of the rest.
Brock’s voice came over the com. “Let’s regroup at Blackwood. I lost the van.”
My stomach dropped because I worried we wouldn’t make it to Roxy again in time.
CHAPTER15
Rachelle
Wesand the team were still out, and the sun was already coming up. I wasn’t sure how long a mission lasted, but I wanted to get my little boy home.
I stepped out of the bedroom and found my brother in the main area. “Hey, bro.”
He smiled up at me and held his arms out for Sage. “Come here, little dude.”
“I thought you would have gone home with Mom and Dad.”
After Wes left to join his team, I wandered around and found Mom and Dad in the dungeon. They’d put Sage down to sleep in what looked like a sex swing. I rescued my little boy and brought him to bed with me.
But twelve hours later, I was ready to go home, shower and change.
“I was waiting for an update. It seems the mission didn’t go as planned. Brock and Wes are at Blackwood Security working out a secondary plan.”
I sat down next to him at the table. “I’m surprised you aren’t telling me to run for the hills.”
Raphael gave me a lopsided smile. “I’ll never understand any of this stuff.” He waved toward the dungeon. “But I’ve never seen you this happy, and if whips and butt plugs make you happy, I’m not going to step in the way. Wes and his friends seem like good guys. I’m happy for you, sis.”
I grabbed Sage out of his arms. “Let’s have lunch this week.”
He nodded. “If you need anything, call.”
We said our goodbyes. I found Paxton and told him I was heading home. I tried Wes, but his phone went to voicemail. I drove home and took a long shower. I was in the middle of the second episode of House Flippers when my phone went off, startling me.
“Hello?”
“Rachelle, I have something Wes wants.” My heartbeat thumped against my chest at the sound of Calvin’s voice.
“What did you do?”
“All you had to do was stay the fuck out of everything. I owe people a lot of money.”
“What does that have to do with Wes or me?”
“He thought he could take Milton and Elsie down and get the girls. You both wrecked everything. I owe them. And if he wants to see Roxy alive again, you will do exactly what I say.”
