“You did well on this room, Kaeden.”

“Jesus, can the world open up and swallow me whole.” I sighed.

Dad smiled over at me. “Your mom and I have a really active sex life.”

“Nope. We are not having this conversation. I already have to deal with Wes for giving my boy anal beads. He’s going to be scared for life. Not sure why anyone thought this place was appropriate for him.”

Wes walked over to the bed and sat down next to me and pressed a straw to my lips. “Everyone in this room cares about you. Your mom knew you would want to see Sage when you woke up. Club Sanctorum has a daycare attached.”

Kaeden walked further into the room. “I think my patient needs some privacy while I do a quick exam.”

My dad leaned over Wes and placed a quick kiss on my cheek. “Your brother is here also, but I kept him in the main room. He wants to see you.”

“You sure we shouldn’t invite Grandma and Grandpa here also. I bet Aunt Rebecca would love this place.”

Dad chuckled, “maybe next time you decide to get kidnapped and drugged, we can send out an alert for the rest of the family.”

He turned and left the room, leaving me with Kaeden and Wes.

“I think I need a few minutes alone with my patient.”

Wes shook his head. “Not going anywhere.”

Kaeden looked at me, ignoring the alpha male in the room. “Do you want him here? I can have someone throw him out.”

“He’s fine.”

“Okay, but I need you over there.” Kaeden pointed to the chair on the other side of the room.

Wes grumbled as he got off the bed and walked to the chair.

Kaeden pulled the stethoscope from around his neck. “Lift up your shirt so I can check your heartbeat and at the same time I also want to check for bruising.”

The corset that was removed was also my bra, so I had nothing on underneath this.

“Rachelle, I’m a doctor. Plus, if you come here more often, I’m going to see you naked. What happened here doesn’t leave the club. You are still my boss on Monday, but I’m your doctor now. Let me do my job. Or I might use the handcuffs on the bed to keep you tied up to make this go faster.” His eyes widened. “Holy shit. We do need to talk about adding handcuffs to the beds at the hospital. Remind me to discuss that on Monday. I’m sure my boss will agree.”

His joke broke the tension and I lifted my shirt over my head. “Funny. Your handcuff request will be denied. I have a feeling we would end up with even more staff having sex in various rooms.”

Kaeden pressed the cold stethoscope to my chest and had me take a deep breathe normally. “Lean forward.” I winced as his hand ran down my back. “You have a good bruise here, but nothing looks broken. I took a sample of your blood earlier and gave it to Agent Scarlet. She’ll be in touch in a few days for a statement.”

“Can I go home?”

“I would like you to stay here for the night. I’ll be here all night along with my brothers. Especially since that one refused to go to the hospital, I want him to stay too.”

“It was a flesh wound, and I hadn’t eaten,” Wes grumbled.

Kaeden rolled his eyes, “I want to check your blood pressure again in a few hours. I couldn’t get a pulse earlier.” I grabbed the shirt next to me and put it back on over my head. “Get some sleep,” Kaeden said as he left the room.

I was left with only Wes in the room. “Can I join you?”

Memories of the other woman next to him rushed back. No way I could ever compare to her or half of the women at the club. The extra weight I promised myself for years I would work to get rid of never happened. “Where is the woman you were with?”

“Are you jealous I was at the club with Agent Scarlet who by the way is with the FBI?”

I blinked a couple of times, focusing on what he said, Agent. “She wasn’t your date?”

Wes shook his head, “no, I was working. I didn’t expect to see you when I walked into the club. Or you in the back of the bar talking to Dr. Bauer for a good hour.”
