“We will be careful.”
“I’ve never been to it before, but I’ve heard other members say they also go to Club Rose. I don’t think it’s open to the public. I’m not sure you can get in. You want me to have Brock call for you.”
“No.” I ran a hand through my hair and sighed. “He will go all alpha and tell me to come to his club. I can’t see Wes play with another woman.”
“Just so you know, he hasn’t had sex with anyone else since you came into his life.”
My mind ran her statement over and over. He hadn’t had sex, but she never once stated he hadn’t touched another woman. Or say he hadn’t go to the club at all. “I’ll check this place out.”
“I’m going with you.” Samantha pointed out. “We will have each other’s back and not leave each other’s side. The first night I think we should just get the lay of the land and see if it’s a place we would want to go back to, anyway.”
“He’s been crazy for the last few days.” Sophie stated.
“Don’t! He made himself perfectly clear one time. I know I’m not anything special and won’t change him.”
Sophie smirked. “See, I think you should show up at our club with a sexy as hell Dom do a scene in the middle of the club and draw all the attention. Leave that man wanting more.”
There was a bigger chance I would find him and beg him for one more night. Time with someone else was what I needed. Because if I saw him with another woman, I would break down and cry.
“Don’t tell Brock, please.”
“Zane has been extra sweet lately. It’s been a while since he made my ass red. I’ll keep your secret, but I won’t stay quiet about anything that puts you in danger.”
“I remember you were on stage a few weeks back, and Zane had a whip. I don’t think it’s been that long.”
“Did you not hear yourself? Did you say weeks? How is a girl supposed to function living with a sexy man when he doesn’t take me more often?” Her kid patted her chest before belting out a cry. “This one is hungry. Call me if you need anything. I’m serious when I say if I hear anything out of the ordinary about that club, I’m telling Brock.”
Sophie got up and left the office. “We need to get back to work. I have to prepare for mediation. Calvin is suing the hospital for wrongful termination. He’s stating he was fired because I retaliated for getting kicked out of the program.”
“I hope you don’t settle. I can get many of the people here to make statements. I’m sure he has harassed others.”
My dad was the one to bring me the lawsuit paperwork. He gave me the option we pay five million to make him go away, or we fight it to the end. I already paid him a hefty sum to go away, and the documents had a clause about him coming after me a second time for money. No way was I going to pay again. “Nope, this time, I’m going to fight it and go after him for damaging the hospital’s name. I don’t care if I have to dip into my own money to fight back. He’s taken enough.”
“Well, I’ll let you get to it.”
For the next hour, I poured over all the documentation and wrote detailed replies to the questions my lawyer had already set out for me. All I had still left to work on was the pile of mail on my desk. I grabbed the first envelope and worked my way through people asking the hospital to assist with rare surgeries and junk.
The last envelope didn’t have an address, only my name on the front. Inside was a handwritten note.
You won’t win this time.
CHAPTER10
Wes
The second cupof coffee did nothing to help with the lack of sleep. Every night I laid in bed, I could still smell her rose shampoo, and then the thought of her tied to the bed crossed my mind. I even attempted to go to the club. Brock asked me to do a teaching scene which left me wanting Rachelle even more.
I had no reason to show up at her house or work. Sophie had taken her things back to the hospital without me even asking. Which was nice of her, but also pissed me off because it was my only shot. Brock took over most of the work the hospital needed for cyber security, and Matt was handling everything else.
The senator was the case I was supposed to be working on. Patty called me ten times the other day, and I hadn’t answered a single one of her calls which led her to call and yell at Brock. She wanted me to call immediately. Hell, she even had Sam, my long time friend, and her husband calling me. But I didn’t want to speak to either of them because they were the only two people who could see through my bullshit, and Brock had told Patty about Rachelle.
I was close to telling Brock I had changed my mind and was heading back to Shialia. But I knew he would dig deeper, and I wasn’t even close to ready to talk about my past. Brock walked in and tossed a folder on the table, and next to him was a tall man dressed in scrubs.
“Wes, this is Dr. Paxton Renolds. He owns Rose Plastic Surgery. He also owns Club Rose with his two brothers. They are going to let us go to their club next Saturday night,” Brock said as he took the chair across from me and took a swig of his Mt. Dew.
Mia walked in the conference room and took the seat next to me. Paxton’s eyes went to Mia and his lip ticked up. The doctor didn’t have a clue what he was getting himself into if he wanted Mia.
Brock cleared his throat. “Hey, Mia. I was just telling Wes you guys are going to Club Rose next Saturday.”
