“I’ll be right back.”

I winced as Wes pulled out. Knowing I would be sore tomorrow, but I wouldn’t change the one night for anything. Too bad the good ones all had issues. The bathroom door in the master bedroom clicked behind Wes. Now I was alone in the bedroom, still naked with no clothes to wear to bed. I wasn’t even sure if I was supposed to go to another room, but I thought he said I was staying in this room.

Wes walked back out in a low pair of shorts and climbed into bed next to me. He pulled me against his chest. His one hand cupped my breast, and I felt my sex stir.

“I need pajamas.”

“Oh but, I want to feel your sexy body in my arms all night.” His lips glided against the back of my neck. “Get some sleep.”

My mind felt like it was on overdrive. Thinking about what the morning would be like. How could I sit across from this man and not want more? Wes’s soft snores filled the room, and I was wide awake. I slowly worked my way out of Wes’s arms. He grumbled for a second before he turned and laid on his back.

On the floor, I spotted my clothes. I grabbed them and headed for the main living room. On the couch was my purse. I pulled out my phone to see if my mom had sent me anything. She’d sent me a text of my sleeping boy.

I slipped my clothes on from the night before and pulled up the drive service my parents used. Everyone was vetted, and I knew it was safe. I also knew the hotel had some of my clothes along with security.

On the counter, I spotted a notepad. I quickly wrote Wes a note.

Wes,

Thank you for a great night. I didn’t want to wake you. I’m staying at my parent’s hotel suite until your team deems it safe for me to go home.

Rachelle

I winced at the loud click of the front door as it opened.

The halls were quiet as I passed two other apartments and jogged down the stairs past the second elevator—the music from the dungeon faintly pulsed through the walls. When I hit the main lobby, a new woman dressed in pink and had long black hair was behind the desk. Her nose scrunched as I walked by. “Wait, you can’t go out alone. Where is your escort?”

“Oh, I was visiting someone upstairs. I’m not part of the club.”

The young woman bit her lip for a second her eyes darted to the door and back to me. “I still don’t think Brock wants anyone leaving unescorted. Give me one second. Oh, and what’s your name.”

“Paula,” I lied.

The woman pressed her finger to her ear and spoke. I assumed she had some type of comm device. “Can someone come to the lobby and escort Paula to her car? She was visiting a guest in the apartments.”

I hoped Brock didn’t have an earpiece in. There was a chance he wouldn’t approve of me leaving, but I also couldn’t face Wes in the morning and not break down telling him how I felt.

“Great.” She said into the headset. “Someone will be right here.”

“You really don’t—”

“Oh, but she did,” growled a very sexy voice. The damn man didn’t have a shirt on. He was in the shorts he put on after sex. In his hand was a note.

CHAPTER9

Rachelle

Two weeksafter Wes caught me trying to sneak out of his place slowly crept by. The damn man was glued to me most days as a bodyguard. Brock found evidence that tied one of the male nurses Frank who worked with Calvin had cut my lines. He said he hated how I wrecked his friend’s life, and I should pay.

With Frank in police custody, Wes let me drive to work for the first time in weeks. He also told me he wanted me to stay at his place, which was ridiculous since the guy was caught. And I couldn’t take another night with Wes walking around the apartment with no shirt. The man hadn’t touched me since our date. No kiss, nothing. It was like we never slept together.

I, on the other hand, hadn’t stopped thinking about it. Each night I touched myself thinking about him, but without my vibrator, I felt more frustrated. The other reason I couldn’t stay at his place was because of the job he was working on tonight.

I overheard his conversation with Brock. Wes planned to go undercover at a BDSM club to find information on a senator, which they thought would lead to answers about a case he was working on. I didn’t want to be at his place, and him coming home smelling like a club and another woman.

The door to my office swung open. Samantha walked in with a cup of coffee.

“Hey, boss, how is world domination coming. I still think it’s strange coming up to this floor. It’s like a different world. You rich people sure do live differently.”
