She didn't say bye, only hung up the phone. Rose didn'tknowhow tofeelabout what her sister had dropped on her. Tyler was Ginger's son, and she worried if she told him, he would take Tyler.
She just hoped he wouldn’t figure it out on his own.

GINGER
The team had taken over the dining room table in Rose's house. She hadn't come back down from when her son yelled for her. Ginger wanted to check on them and make sure they were okay, but he stayed planted in the chair and listened to Lucas talk tech stuff next to him.
Ginger preferred to use Cy, his teammate, for any research or when he needed something hacked, but he didn't have a choice because this was an operation on Xavier's dime.
“I want you to pull information on Rose. There'ssomething with the boy.” Xavier sighed as he set his cup of coffee down.
Ginger hadn't even taken the time to untangle the emotions tied to Rose. “She's not part of this. We only need to protect her for answers.”
Xavier tapped his finger on the table. “That boy looks like you. Not one picture in this house nor are there any on social media of Rose pregnant.”
The same thought had crossed his mind, butcouldBrittany really keep a pregnancy a secret from him then hand his kid over to her sister? “None of that has anything to do with Carter.”
He should want answers, but he had no clue what he would do if the boy was his son. Kids were something his mom wanted him to have. At one time, when he was with Brittany, he’d thought aboutkids.
A smile broke over Grim's face. “That would be some straight Maury Povich shit.”
“Lucas, you find anything on Brittany's location?” Ginger asked, pulling the conversation away from Rose.
Lucas shook his head. “She's not going to tell us anything until she finds her husband. I can’t pin down her location. The damn woman is jumping through countries faster than I can locate her.” Lucas let out an aggravated sigh. “Last place she touched down was in Egypt. She hired a driver, and I think she's meeting with Carter, but she changed cars four times on the trip.”
Casanova leaned forward and tapped the map they’d spread out over the kitchen table. “Our last intel had him here. Ground the team until wegetmore members, with Ginger being down for the count and Axel moving to DC, we aren’t going wheels up for a while.”
“We need to be one hundred percent sure on Carter's location before I send a team. Everyone seems to forget this op is one hundred percent funded by me. I can't keep pulling all my team members off jobs to wind up empty-handed,” Xavier said.
Ginger understood where the man was coming from, butitfeltlike they were always too many steps behind. “Brittany thinks Carter still has her husband. Theoretically if he does, wouldn't that mean he's at a lab Carter would own? If we go after the lab, itwill draw him out.”
“You don't think I've looked for his headquarters?” Lucas glanced up from his laptop. “The man is close to invincible. In all my years, I've never seen anyone who can fly under the radar like him, and he doesn't make mistakes. Which makes me wonder who else is helping him.”
“Wecouldsit here all night and ask the same questions over and over.” Xavier sighed as he raised from the chair. “But we need an actual plan, one that will work.”
“Iknowwhere she is,” Rose said as she stepped into the kitchen.
“I thought you only talked to her every so often?” Ginger asked, then wondered if she lied like her sister.
“Most of the time, I have no clue where in the world she is located and rarely talk to her. Brittany has always given me a way to contact her. You all seem like nice people but breaking into my house and taking over the way you have, left me on edge, so I made a call.”
Xavier and his team always put Ginger on edge. He couldn't imagine what Rosefelt. Every person in the room had pushed themselves into her house and hadn't given her an option.
“You just talked to your sister.”
Rose nodded slightly. “But I don't want to give the information to you guys, ifitends up hurting my sister.”
Grim's lips turned down. “We aren't going after your sister. If she’d let us, we would help her because the only man I want toseesix feet underground with a bullet between his eyes is Carter.”
“A second ago, when we talked, I overheard a train conductor,” Brittany said. “She's near Frankfurt, and if I had to make a guess, she's staying in the cottage she has outside of town there.”
“Impossible,” Lucas grumbled. “A camera picked her up an hour ago in Egypt. No way shecouldgetto Germany that fast.”
“She pays doubles,” Brittany said. “I've seen pictures and even I can't tell the difference between the double and her.”
“That explains why we couldn't pinpoint her location,” Lucas said. “Narrowing down my tracking to Germany will help, but once she moves, we will be chasing our tails again. My facial recognition software is good, but I think Brittany uses tactics to throwitoff. Do you want the team to go wheels up and head to Germany, boss?”
