Axel nodded and leaned forward. “Yes, but you need a bodyguard with you at all times. I’m not going through that shit again, and I still have to complete my requirements. Tex is going to vet your bodyguards, and I would also like it if you wore one of his trackers.”

Sidney had told her about the trackers the team’s women wore. Only Tex had the locations. She hadn’t met the former SEAL in person yet, but she trusted him with her life. “Yes, I’ll wear one, and Axel...”

Terri wrappedher legs around his waist as he carried her down the hall. He loved how she tightened herself against him. “Axel, never let me go.”

Axel stopped and stared into her blue eyes. “I won’t ever leave you again.” Terri was his future.

He could see the vulnerability in her eyes. It crushed his heart. She thought he would leave her again.

Terri closed her eyes and took a deep breath. “Are we going to have back door sex?”

Axel nodded and grabbed the bottom of the T-shirt she was wearing, and pulled it over her head. Terri put it on when they were down in the master bedroom of the cabin. He wanted to bring Franny back to life so he could kill her himself. Terri’s side had a large purple mark. He knew it would get worse in a couple days. The EMT told him she was fine, but now he wondered if he should’ve made her go to the hospital.

Her soft hand touched his. “I promise it's fine.”
