Midnight ran by and stopped near the fence with the other horses. Lynn had been seconds from being run over. Her eyes were wide as she looked down at him. When she shifted, he couldn’t help but groan and not from pain. She rubbed against him, and with each movement, he got harder.
Her pink tongue ran across her lips. “Thank you.”
“Anytime, darling.”
She hadn’t moved, as his arms still held her, and she looked into his eyes. The world around them disappeared. He wanted nothing more than to press his lips against hers.
“Are you guys okay?” Taz asked.
Lynn quickly climbed off him, but Bryson needed a few minutes to get his body under control.
“Yeah, something spooked Midnight.” She was already halfway across the yard, going to get the horse.
Something had happened in that barn, and Bryson was going to figure out what it was.
