Page 108 of Knot So Broken

Taking the gun from my hand without hesitation, she holds it up to take aim before pulling the trigger and putting a bullet right between the eyes of whatever is left of the Alpha.

Turning towards Trent, he begins shrieking but is quickly silenced as another round is fired, hitting him directly in the throat.

He gurgles, bloody pouring from his throat, his death equally as gruesome as his pack mate’s.

Charles doesn’t bother struggling after seeing both of his pack mates suffer. Instead he stands up as straight as he can with what is clearly a broken leg.

Kennedy doesn’t falter as he looks her directly in the eye. It's interesting watching him accept his fate at the hands of our Omega. “I’m sorry for the pain that my pack and I caused you, Kennedy. I hope my death brings you the peace that you need.”

Kennedy nods, her head turning to the side for a moment as she assesses him. I don’t know what exactly it is that she is looking for but it's clear that whatever she needed to follow through with her justice, she finds.

Taking a step closer, she holds the pistol up so it rests against his temple.

“The world will be a much better place without scum like you dirtying our world.”

The sound of the bullet firing, the splatter of blood - and other unmentionables - as it finds its target. The following silence after the last Alpha meets his fate feels thick in the air.

I watch Kennedy as she turns and steps towards me, handing my gun back to me. She doesn’t give me anything else.

Killing for the first time isn’t something to take lightly. It's a lot to take a life. From the look on Kennedy’s face, I know that she is going to lock her feelings away until this is all said and done. Then, I will give her a shoulder to cry on.

“What now?” Her voice is calm so at war with the mess behind her.

“Now, my Angel, we pay a visit to your father,” Jax says as he takes a step towards our blood thirsty Omega. Her mouth turns into a wicked grin as she looks up at him.

Dad chuckles as he comes to stand beside me, startling me from basking in the look on my girl's face.

“You will be kept on your toes with that one, figlio.”

We make our way as a unit out of the cell. Pa makes a call in for a clean up crew to discard the Mullen pack. Papa makes a call to the tech unit to wipe them completely from this earth. Their riches will be moved from account to account, cleaned just as we did with Calvin’s.

The only trace left of them will just be a memory that lingers in the minds of their social circles. My thoughts already roll over ways that issue can be sorted too.

We load back into the car, taking off and making our way to Calvin’s home. My fathers follow closely behind us in Dad’s Rolls.

We warred for only a moment if we should gather some soldiers to bring along with us but we decided against it.

Checking the surveillance we hacked days ago for his residence shows a minimal amount of security. We know that we can handle it.

We park down the road from the house enough to stay out of immediate view. Moving out of the car, we slowly begin making our way to our first target.

The way Calvin has his guards set up shows his lack of understanding of our world. If he was smart enough, he would not only have guards on the gates but he would also have patrols around his property.

Pa and Ledger lead us as we make our way along the front gate. Looking back, I check on Kennedy behind me. Her face is set in determination but she still gives me a small smile when she finds me looking at her.

Turning back to the front, I bring myself into focus. Even though the odds aren’t against us, my training makes me wiser, along with our most recent lesson.

You should never let your guard down.

Ledger holds his hand up, stopping us in our tracks as the two of them make their way into the guard room at the gate. The scuffle is kept surprisingly short as Ledger ducks around the corner, motioning for us to follow him.

We make a run for it to the front door just in case our information is wrong. Thankfully, we reach the porch without any issues.

I look around at both of my brothers as well as my fathers, checking in and ensuring that we are all ready. They each give me a nod before they check over their weapons. Finally, I look down at Kennedy.

“If any of this is too much for you, say the word and one of us will get you out of here. I don’t want you to trigger yourself anymore than necessary. Pulling back doesn’t make you weak.”

She goes to argue with me but I raise my eyebrow. She huffs but nods, “If it's too much I will say something but I need to see this through.”
