“A family?” I repeated, unable to process her words as I held onto her tightly.

Her brow furrowed in confusion and frustration as she replied, “What did you think we were? You, me, Xander—we’re family. And now we have our boys. We protect one another.”

I was at a loss for words. Family, just the three of us and our little ones?

“Don’t act so surprised,” Nerine scolded, wiping her tears with one hand while still clinging to me with the other. “I know you’re angry, and I understand. But everything I’ve done was to protect us, our circle, our family.” Her voice broke as she continued. “And if I can’t back out, you can’t either.”

The raw emotion storming in her eyes was like a hurricane breaking through the carefully built walls I had constructed around myself. Her forehead pressed against mine, drawing us closer together. “I’m sorry for hurting you. I know I'm not the perfect angel you thought I was. But we must figure this out for our family and the boys.” The word "family" echoed in my mind as I gazed at the woman before me.

Nerine.

Xander.

Our boys.

A family.

These two simple words contained an entire world of love and possibility. As much as I tried to resist, it was time to forgive her.

In an instant, the tension inside me shattered like glass, replaced by a flood of emotions. Anger and pain washed away, leaving behind only an immense, all-encompassing love for this woman.

Releasing Nerine's wrist, I gently cupped her face and lifted it. Tenderly wiping away the tears from her cheeks with my thumb, I spoke softly, "You've made your point loud and clear, Angel."

She gave me a watery smile as I pulled her toward me. Our lips just inches apart, Xander's voice interrupted from his chair, "Are you done with your tantrum now, Theo?"

My response was immediate and filled with frustration. "Fuck off, Xan."

Ignoring his presence, I closed the distance between Nerine and me and captured her lips in a deep kiss. She melted into me, her mouth soft and inviting. A moment later, my eyes met Xander’s as he crouched beside us. A familiar spark of lust shone in his gaze, charging the energy around us into a frenzy.

"I'd rather fuck her," he stated boldly.

I couldn't help but feel my cock twitch in agreement. The three of us remained still, waiting to see who would make the next move.

"I thought you said you wouldn't touch me until you got everything out of me?" Nerine whispered, daring to break the electric silence.

My desire for her only grew at her boldness. Looking up into her eyes, I could see something ethereal and transcendent in her beauty, something that surpassed words.

"We've all suffered enough pain for a lifetime," I murmured, my fingers tangling in her hair and resting at the nape of her neck. She looked down at me, searching my eyes for something unspoken.

"Nerine," I breathed, "you've given us more than we ever could have imagined."

She gasped at my words, her lips parting slightly with anticipation. It was time to put an end to this game of resistance.

Without hesitation, I pulled her back, our lips colliding together. Her mouth felt like velvet against mine, soft and pliable, yielding to my desires.

Her thighs tightened around my hips as she kissed me deeply, inviting and welcoming. As I reached down between her legs and settled my thumb against her denim-covered clit, Xander stepped up behind her, his hands cupping her breasts.

Suddenly, Xander pinched one of her nipples, causing her to break away from our kiss and cry out in pleasure.

“Oh, dear God.” Her moans filled the cabin like a familiar song that had been long forgotten, sweet and comforting.

My arousal grew to almost painful levels as I watched them continue their passionate embrace.

As I circled Nerine's sensitive nub through her clothes, I reached up and grabbed Xander's shoulder, pulling him closer. He held her chin, and his lips met hers while my gaze stayed fixed on the two of them.

This was what we needed.

This was what we had been missing.
